Update: A credit card offer in this post may no longer be available, but check the Hot Deals for the latest offers!
Today is the last day to activate the 2nd quarter bonus on the Chase Freedom card!
You can still earn bonus points on all your restaurant and Lowe’s purchases from April 1, 2014, to June 30, 2014. But you have to register for the bonus by TODAY, June 14, 2014. It just takes a minute.
What Are Chase Freedom Category Bonuses?
You can earn 5 points per $1 you spend, or 5% cash back, on categories that rotate every 3 months.
For April, May, and June 2014, the Chase Freedom bonus categories are restaurants and Lowe’s home improvement stores. You’ll earn the bonus on spending in these categories, up to $1,500 per quarter.
Remember, you can buy gift cards at Lowe’s to lots of other retailers, like Amazon, Southwest, Petsmart, or department stores.
You must have the Chase Sapphire Preferred, (no longer offered) Chase Ink Bold or Chase Ink Plus, to transfer Ultimate Rewards points to hotels and airlines.
But you have to activate the bonus each quarter. It doesn’t happen automatically.
Activating the quarterly bonus is retroactive, meaning that you will earn 5X points or 5% cash back on all of your restaurant and Lowe’s purchases (up to a maximum of $1,500) in April, May, and June.
What About Next Quarter?
You can activate next quarter’s bonus categories starting June 15, 2014.
For July, August, and September 2014, you’ll earn 5 points per $1 you spend, or 5% cash back, at gas stations and Kohl’s department stores.
It’s easy to maximize the bonus by buying gift cards at gas stations for purchases you’ll make later.
