One Mile at a Time alerts us to a 1 day (ends on November 3) offer on the American Express Business Gold card which offers 75,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $10,000 within 5 months.
This is much better than the regular 50,000 point offer.
The 1st year fee of $175 is waived for the 1st year, and the card offers 3 points per $1 spent on airfare, 2 points on advertising, gas, and shipping, and 1 point on everything else. However, there is a 2.7% foreign transaction fee for using the card overseas.
Both Gary and Ben suggest writing or calling American Express and asking them to match the higher bonus if you’ve applied for the Business Gold card in the last few months. It isn’t guaranteed that American Express will match the higher bonus, but the answer is “no” if you don’t ask!
I’m actually thinking of applying for this card, but I need to think through how I’ll meet the $10,000 minimum spend requirement.
Disclosure: I don’t get paid any commission for recommending this credit card.
