Gary Steiger commented on the last edition of Sunday sweepstakes, that the tax liability on sweepstake prizes may be more than the prize itself.  To help decide whether to play or not, I’ve included the Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of each prize below.

For example, if you won a prize with an ARV of $1,000 and were in the 30% tax bracket, you would have to pay 30% tax ($300) if you won the prize.

wacky guy commented that it would be nice to know how many times you can enter and when the last date to enter.  I’ve included that information as well.

I love feedback on how to make the blog more useful to you, so keep the feedback coming!
