St. Augustine wrote, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”
I am writing Million Mile Secrets to help you read – for free – many of the pages of the enchanting and bewitching book that is our world! What I call Big Travel with Small Money.
Miles and points have given me – for free – experiences like seeing the Taj Mahal in India and Carnival in Rio, wandering in Europe and Asia for 3 months, flying in International First Class, staying in expensive hotels, visiting 30+ countries, and seeing my friends and family often. And research shows that wonderful experiences, like traveling, not only makes us wiser, but also happier (in fact, more happy than material possessions).
I am addicted to airline miles and hotel points. I think of miles while driving to work, while sleeping, and even while in the shower. I once drove 250 miles to open 2 bank accounts which gave me 50,000 Continental Airline miles.
Why? Because they provide me with wonderful experiences which I otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford. And because I love, absolutely love, searching for ways to interpret complex terms and conditions to my advantage (That’s why I was a good auditor!).
I got started in this hobby by stumbling upon Flyertalk while searching for cheap air tickets (and later progressed to Milepoint and other blogs). There are great blogs and resources (see the links in the right column of my blog) for learning about “Travel Hacking” or how to take advantage of mile and point promotions to travel for less.
My goal with Million Mile Secrets is slightly different from the other wonderful resources out there.
I want to provide time-starved readers, who don’t accumulate many miles via paid travel, with the most actionable content so that they, too, can start collecting miles and points and enjoy special travel experiences with their loved ones.
This information will be organized in an easy-to-find format on Millionmilesecrets.com, so that with a little reading, you, too, can enjoy wonderful travel experiences at the price that’s right for you!
You can expect one or two posts a day, but with only the most relevant content so that you too can quickly accumulate miles and points. My blog posts will:
1) Share my spreadsheets to help keep track of your miles and promotions.
2) Share my checklists so that you too can use the many steps and resources to book the cheapest hotels or get the best price for rental cars.
3) Provide you with the most objective reviews of credit card sign-up bonuses and travel promotions.
4) Explain in simple terms what a particular promotion or credit-card can do for you!
Thanks for stopping by! Please leave a comment, or send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions, thoughts, or feedback!
