You Actually Can Book Many Disney World Resorts With Points

Ken and his wife Emily write about using points and miles (and saving money) on Disney trips at Mousehacking.com.  So I’ve asked them to share their tips on booking Walt Disney World hotels with Chase Ultimate Rewards points!

Ken and Emily:   If you’re a Disney fan, you know their amazing parks and experiences keep travelers coming back!  Many folks who visit Walt Disney World don’t consider using miles and points to offset the hotel cost of their trip, because most Disney resorts don’t belong to a loyalty program.

More seasoned travelers know they can book the on-site Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin using Starwood points.   But did you know you can book other Disney resorts with flexible points like Chase Ultimate Rewards?

What’s Covered Under My Chase Sapphire Preferred Auto Coverage?

Million Mile Secrets reader, George, commented:

I am in France for a 3 month stay.  I’m going to rent a car with the Chase Sapphire Preferred.

I understand that primary coverage comes with the Chase Sapphire Preferred.  Does that mean headlights, windows, and tires are covered, as well?  Europcar tries to sell me insurance for that, along with any other damage to the car.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred does NOT cover Personal Liability Car insurance for other property, cars, and injuries.  So will I be able to buy that separately from the car rental agency?

Thanks for the question, George!

Booking with the Chase Sapphire Preferred will guarantee your vehicle is covered for all physical damage, including headlights, tires, and windshields.

However, for personal liability coverage, you will need to read the fine print of your rental agreement.  And you may be covered by your personal health insurance, so make sure to check!

But the Chase benefits guide states that you won’t be covered for rentals that EXCEED 31 consecutive days!  So you’ll have to split up your rentals during your 3 month trip.

But the new Chase Sapphire Reserve also offers similar primary auto rental insurance.  And lots of other improved travel perks!

So how good is the Chase Sapphire Reserve Rental Car Insurance? Is it the best credit card for car rentals?

Is It a Good Idea to Use Airline Miles to Buy Merchandise?

Million Mile Secrets reader HP tweeted:

Is it a waste to use miles for merchandise?  After having a baby, I don’t have plans to travel, and a new iPad would be nice!

Congrats on your baby, HP!

You will NOT get the best value for your miles by redeeming them for merchandise.  But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t!

Everyone’s situation is unique.  You should always use your points & miles in a way that makes sense for your situation.  And what makes you happiest!

But you should NOT continue to use an airline miles earning credit card if your goal is to use them for merchandise.

Is It A Good Idea To Use Airline Miles To Buy Merchandise

There Are Better Ways to Earn Free Merchandise Than Cashing-In Your Miles

I’ll show you better credit card options if you aren’t planning to use your rewards for travel.  And also a couple ways to save your miles, in case you think you’ll use them for travel later!
