It’s possible to earn the Southwest Companion Pass without putting any more than $4,000 in minimum spending on your cards (the amount necessary to earn 2 Southwest credit card sign-up bonuses).

Million Mile Secrets reader, Eugene, commented:
Do Costco gas stations qualify for the current Chase Freedom 5X quarterly bonus category?
Chase Freedom’s quarterly bonus categories are a terrific way to earn valuable Chase Ultimate Rewards points. That’s one of the reasons I keep the Freedom card in my wallet!
So it’s important to know which merchants earn the 5X bonus. Because Chase does NOT consider all places with fuel services as “gas stations”.
Although Chase excludes warehouse stores, many Million Mile Secrets readers have let me know that gas purchases at Costco and Sam’s Club might work for the 5X bonus!
