I’ll share the details of this promotion. And help you decide whether it makes sense for you!
Earn Bonus Miles for Spending With Delta Partners
Through June 30, 2017, you can earn 1,000 bonus Delta miles for every new Delta partner (excluding airline partners) you earn miles with.
Delta has a wide variety of partners, from credit card partners, to hotels, shuttle services, cruises, restaurants, and more. So these bonus points could really add up! Because there’s no limit to the number of bonus points you can earn.
For example, you could rent a car with Hertz and book a stay through Airbnb, and earn 2,000 bonus Delta miles (1,000 bonus miles per partner).
As long as you haven’t earned Delta miles with that particular partner since March 24, 2016, your spending will qualify for the deal. But you MUST register with your Delta frequent flyer number to earn the bonus miles.
And it may take up to 60 days for the bonus miles to post to your account.
Is This a Good Deal?
If you’re trying to collect Delta miles, this offer is certainly worth taking advantage of. Especially if you qualify for the bonus with Delta SkyMiles Shopping or SkyMiles Dining programs. Because it’s easy for most folks to make a purchase online or to dine out at a participating restaurant.
Or, if you have a hotel stay planned with one of Delta’s hotel partners, like Hilton or IHG, you could select to earn Delta miles for your stay, and earn an extra 1,000 Delta miles.
You could also consider transferring Starwood points to Delta to earn the 1,000 bonus Delta points with this promotion. Unless you have Platinum Elite status with Starwood, the minimum number of Starwood points you’ll have to transfer is 1,500, but you’ll end up with 2,500 Delta miles (1,500 points + 1,000 bonus miles)!
Just remember, you will NOT qualify for the bonus if you’ve earned Delta miles with that particular partner since March 24, 2016. And purchases with Delta’s airline partners do NOT count.
