4 Days Left: Apply In-Branch for $1,500+ in Free Travel

Signing up for credit cards through partner links earns us a commission. Terms apply to the offers listed on this page. Here’s our full advertising policy: How we make money.

Update:   One or more card offers in this post are no longer available.  Check our Hot Deals for the latest offers.

I shared 2 months ago that the Chase Sapphire Reserve 100,000 point sign-up bonus would be reduced by half for online applications.  But the original sign-up bonus is still available to folks who visit a Chase branch to apply!

But after March 12, 2017, (this Sunday!), you will no longer earn 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points when you apply for the Chase Sapphire Reserve in-branch.

We don’t earn a commission for the in-branch Chase Sapphire Reserve offers, but Emily and I will always remind you about the best deals for Big Travel!

You’ll Get at Least $1,500 in Travel From the Chase Sapphire Reserve 100,000-Point Sign-Up Bonus, but You Must Apply In-Branch by March 12, 2017

If you’re interested in the Chase Sapphire Reserve‘s larger sign-up bonus, this is your last opportunity!

The Chase Sapphire Reserve currently comes with 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening when you apply online.  That’s worth at least $750 when you redeem your points for travel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal.

But when you apply in-branch by March 12, 2017, you’ll earn 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after completing the minimum spending requirement, worth at least $1,500 when you redeem your points for travel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal!

And you can get even more value from your points if you transfer them to valuable travel partners, like Hyatt and Korean Air!

Transfer 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points to Korean Air for 4 Round-Trip Award Flights to Hawaii on Delta!

If you live near a Chase branch, applying in-person instead of online is a no-brainer.  But you only have 4 days before this deal drops to 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points!

Note:   Many Chase branches are closed on the weekends.  You usually find Chase branches open on Sundays if they are located in grocery stores.  So if you plan to apply, it’s best to get to a branch today or tomorrow!

Is the Chase Sapphire Reserve Worth It?

No other Chase Ultimate Rewards points earning credit card has ever come with a public 100,000 point sign-up bonus.  So this is an excellent deal!

This card will also give you:

  • 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on travel & dining
  • 1X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on all other purchases
  • $300 annual credit for travel purchases such as airfare and hotels
  • $100 statement credit for Global Entry
  • Priority Pass Select for access to airport lounges
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Visa Infinite benefits like $25 food and beverage credit at the Luxury Hotel Collection and complimentary car rental elite status with Silvercar

The card comes with a $450 annual fee, but it can easily be offset by the perks of this card.  Like the $300 annual travel credit, which you can earn twice before your 2nd annual fee is due!

However, if you don’t want to commit to such a large annual fee, cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred or the Citi ThankYou Premier Card are good alternatives!

Note:   Both these Chase Sapphire Reserve and Chase Sapphire Preferred fall under Chase’s tougher application rules.  So if you’ve opened 5+ cards from any bank in the past 24 months (except certain business cards), you likely won’t be approved for these cards.

Bottom Line

You have until March 12, 2017 (Sunday), to apply in-branch for the Chase Sapphire Reserve and receive a sign-up bonus of 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after meeting minimum spending requirements.

After that, the sign-up bonus will drop to 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points (same as the current online offer).

Emily and I don’t earn a cent when you apply for the Chase Sapphire Reserve, but we’re committed to sharing the highest offers with our readers.

Will you be making your way to a Chase branch before this Sunday?
