The best hotel for you depends on your travel plans and expectations.  Some folks like to use points to splurge at luxury hotels for an unforgettable experience.

Others prefer using fewer points at more moderate hotels, so they can make their points go further.  You can also stretch your points by:

1.   The Westin Nashville

The Westin Nashville is one of the newest Starwood hotels in the US.  It opened in October 2016 and is right in the downtown area.

You can walk to the major attractions like the Nashville Music City Center, Bridgestone Arena, and many of the live music venues on Broadway.

This is a category 5 hotel, which means a free night costs 12,000 Starwood points.

I found a sample 3-night stay in June 2017, which would cost ~$1,200 if you paid cash.  So using points from AMEX Starwood limited time offer could save you a lot of money!

2.   Sheraton Grand Chicago

If you’re planning a trip to Chicago, you can consider staying at the Sheraton Grand Chicago.

Emily and I stayed close to this hotel when we visited Chicago.  It’s in a terrific location if you want to walk to popular spots like Millennium Park or Navy Pier.

I like the location and vibe of the W New York – Union Square, which is in a local New York City neighborhood.  And there’s a subway station nearby, which can connect you to other parts of the city.

After a busy day exploring San Francisco, you can relax at The Park Central.

Team member Keith stayed at this hotel not long ago and really enjoyed it!  He says the location made it easy to take a quick Uber ride to the Golden Gate Bridge and Alamo Square Park.

5.   Four Points By Sheraton French Quarter

If you’re looking for an adventure in New Orleans, you can use Starwood points to stay at the Four Points by Sheraton French Quarter.

The hotel is located right on Bourbon Street.  Folks on TripAdvisor like the balcony rooms because it offers the ultimate people watching spot.

The hotel is very close to famous restaurants like the Court of Two Sisters or Galatoire’s.  And it’s a good starting point if you want to book a popular walking tour like the New Orleans Ghost Tour.

I found a 2-night weekend stay in June 2017 for ~$450.  Or you can use 12,000 Starwood points per night, or 24,000 Starwood points total.

6.   Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay

7.   The St. Regis Aspen

If you’re looking to splurge for a memorable experience, you can use Starwood points to stay at The St. Regis Aspen.

The hotel gets amazing reviews on TripAdvisor because it’s near Aspen Mountain for folks who like to ski or snowboard.  And the hotel has upscale service and luxurious amenities.

This is a category 7 hotel.  So you’ll use 30,000 to 35,000 Starwood points for a free night depending on the date.

Using points can save you a lot of money because a night in April costs ~$1,170 if you pay cash.

There are fantastic Starwood hotels in the US you can book using points!  Like the The Park Central in San Francisco or the The St. Regis Aspen.
