Sneak Peak: New IHG PointBreaks Hotels for 5,000 Points (~$35) Per Night

Each quarter, IHG cuts the points price on a number of their hotels around the world to 5,000 IHG points per night, through their PointBreaks promotion.

And the folks at IHG gave us a sneak peak into a few of the hotels that will be included on the PointBreaks list they’re releasing October 31, 2016.

The full list of PointBreaks hotels is NOT available yet.  But the best deals can sell out quickly, so you’ll be prepared when they’re released!

On October 31, 2016, IHG will release their newest IHG PointBreaks list.  It’s valid for stays through January 31, 2017.

In the meantime, I wanted to share a few interesting hotels that we know will be included on the list.  And remind you that using the IHG Points & Cash trickthese rooms are only ~$35!  Or ~$30 using this version of the trick.

1.    Holiday Inn Salerno – Cava de’ Tierreni, Italy

This hotel gets excellent reviews on TripAdvisor, and rooms here normally cost ~$95 per night.  So if you’re planning a trip to Pompeii, or traveling to the picturesque Amalfi Coast, this could be a great option for you!

2.   InterContinental Cali, Colombia

Folks especially like the breakfast and pool at this hotel.  And rooms usually cost ~$130 or 25,000 IHG points per night.  So you could save a lot of money & points booking a PointBreaks rate here!

3.   Holiday Inn Sandton – Rivonia Road, Johannesburg, South Africa

Headed to South Africa?  Consider the Holiday Inn Sandton in Johannesburg.  Folks on TripAdvisor report it’s great for business travelers, and love the comfortable beds and friendly staff.

With rooms costing ~$115 per night, you’d definitely save money with the PointBreaks deal!

Bottom Line

On October 31, 2016, IHG will release the latest list of PointBreaks hotels.  These can be booked for just 5,000 IHG points through January 31, 2017.

But be prepared to book fast, because the best hotels won’t last!  Because PointBreaks hotels are an excellent deal if you can find one that fits into your travel plans!

  4. You can book as many consecutive nights you want (or tgey have) but only at up to two hotels. I did 7 nights at one in August.

  5. What time does it usually go live on the website? I have a few hotels in mind that I really want to try for.
