Right now American Express is sending out targeted offers for cardholders of The Business Platinum® Card from American Express worth 10,000 Membership Rewards points.  The offer simply requires you to enroll your card in the Extended Payment Option to earn 10,000 AMEX points.

You’ll have a hard time finding an easier way to earn points than this deal!

While many folks got targeted for this offer via email, there are reports of individuals getting the deal by calling American Express.  So if you have the AMEX Business Platinum card, I would recommend calling in to see if they can extend the offer to you over the phone because there isn’t a link where you can check (that I know of).

AMEX Business Platinum Card – Enroll in Extended Payment and Earn 10,000 AMEX points (Targeted)

End date:   December 31, 2018

Important terms & restrictions:

  • You must be targeted and accept/activate this offer
  • You must enroll in the Extended Payment Option
  • Upon enrollment in the Extended Payment plan, you will earn 10,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points
  • No purchase necessary, enrollment in the Extended Payment plan is all that is required

Good Deal or Not:   This is an exceptional deal.  No purchase is necessary and no credit check is required when enrolling in the Extended Payment Option.  So this is a very easy way to earn a quick 10,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points.

The Extended Payment Option allows you to carry a balance on your AMEX Business Platinum card up to a pre-approved amount.  So it basically turns the card, which is a charge card (i.e. you have to pay off your balance in full each month), into a credit card.  You don’t need to actually use the feature, but once enrolled then the option will always be available to you.  And you don’t need to carry a balance (and pay ridiculous amounts of interest) to qualify for the bonus.

If you were targeted for the offer or are able to call in and get it, then I would definitely take advantage.  It’s possible other AMEX charge cards are being targeted for a similar offer.  So it’s worth looking into if you’ve got an AMEX charge card, like the refreshed American Express® Gold Card.
