The United Airlines online portal is giving away 45 United Airlines miles per $1 when you buy from Magazines.com.  You do NOT need a co-branded United Airlines credit card to take advantage of this deal.  If you have a specific award in mind and need a few more miles, this is a cheaper way to top off your United Airlines miles balance than buying directly from United.com.

And, as Running With Miles points out, this could be a good way to buy discounted Business Class tickets.  Especially if you know how to use United Airlines’ routing rules to get Big Travel!

If you plan to fly coach and don’t have a certain award in mind, it’s NOT a good deal.

Making a purchase with Magazines.com through the United Airlines portal is like buying United Airlines miles at 2.2 cents per mile.  To compare, United Airlines sells points for 3.5 cents each!  So using Magazines.com to purchase your points will save you 37%, and get you free magazines!

And you can always donate the magazines you buy to waiting rooms, schools, or hospitals so they don’t go to waste.

Here are promo codes to make this bonus even better:

  • Save $5 with promo code COLUMBUS
  • Receive surprise sale with promo code SURPRISEME

These codes are only valid for today, October 10, 2016.  We don’t know how long the offer for bonus miles will last, but it may end today, too!

Bottom Line

For a limited time, you can buy United Airlines miles through at 2.2 cents per mile when you buy through the United Airlines shopping portal.  This is much cheaper than buying miles directly from United.com.

If you need a few more miles to redeem for a certain award, or if you’d like to purchase Business Class seats at a discount, this could be a good idea for you!

Let me know if you jump on this offer!

  1. Arlington Travler

Deal is gone as of 10/11 at 1pm EST

  2. I wish you had told me in the “DAILY” E-mail that I rcv from you…that by the time I got my “DAILY” E-mail, this offer would be dead. Kinda like your contests – they are sometimes dead by the time I get your e-mail every morning.

    • @BillyBob – Sorry about that. We don’t email out every post, because then it would be overwhelming. We’ve revamped our email newsletter so it is now sent out daily in the morning and the contest closes in the evening.
