IHG has a new way to earn bonus points on upcoming hotel stays! Sign-up for IHG’s latest promotion to see how many extra points you can earn.
Some folks report being able to earn nearly 80,000 IHG points with this deal! That’s more than enough for a night at a top IHG hotel, like the InterContinental Hong Kong, which costs 60,000 IHG points per night.
I’ll show you how to register for this deal. And help you decide whether you should take advantage of your personalized offer!
How Does the IHG Accelerate Promotion Work?
When you sign-up for IHG’s Accelerate promotion, you’ll get a customized deal with a number of tasks you can complete to earn more IHG points for future IHG hotel stays.
IHG hotels include Candlewood Suites, Crowne Plaza, EVEN Hotels, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Club Vacations, Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts, and Staybridge Suites brand hotels.
The tasks and total number of bonus IHG points you can earn depend on how often you stay with IHG, your elite status, and other factors.
Just remember, you must book your hotels stays for this promotion directly through IHG. Bookings made through 3rd-party sites like Orbitz will NOT count. And certain discount and group rates do NOT qualify.
Million Mile Secrets team member Meghan is not an IHG elite member and has no recent IHG stays. She was offered up to 33,500 bonus IHG points for completing 5 tasks through the promotion:
Her first task is to download and sign-in to the IHG app, which is easy enough for 500 IHG points.
But to earn the full bonus, Meghan would have to stay 9+ nights at certain IHG hotels. So this isn’t a great deal, unless she already has plans for lots of IHG stays anyways.
Other folks have reported being targeted to earn nearly 80,000 bonus IHG points with the IHG Accelerate promotion. So register your IHG account to see your offer, and decide whether it makes sense for you!
Is This a Good Deal?
It’s a good idea to sign-up, even if you don’t have any IHG hotel stays planned. Because it only takes a few minutes to register, and you never know when a travel opportunity might come up!
But whether or not it’s worth staying at an IHG hotel just to earn the bonus points depends on your offer.
Plus, there are lots of other easy ways to earn IHG points. Like using the Cash & Points trick to buy points.
You can also apply for the Chase IHG card to earn 60,000 IHG points after meeting minimum spending requirements, plus a $50 statement credit after your first purchase.
Here’s my my review of the Chase IHG card.
You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to IHG at a 1:1 ratio. From cards that earn Chase Ultimate Rewards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Ink Plus (no longer available), or Ink Bold (no longer available).
Although you’ll usually save more money by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to partners like Hyatt and United Airlines. But it could be worth it for the PointBreaks list!
You can earn bonus IHG points for completing tasks including stays at IHG hotels with IHG’s latest Accelerate promotion. The deal is valid for stays booked directly with IHG between September 6, 2016, and December 15, 2016.
Everyone’s offer will be slightly different, so register to see how many bonus IHG points you can earn!
Depending on your personalized offer, it may or may not make sense for you to switch your upcoming hotel stays. But because it only takes a few minutes, it’s worth signing-up even if you don’t have any trips planned.
