How Do You Earn Elite Qualifying Miles?

If you want to keep your elite status through early 2018, you’ll need to earn 12,500 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs) by December 16, 2016.

The number of Elite Qualifying Miles you’ll earn for a flight depends on whether you’re flying First Class, Business Class, or coach.  You’ll earn between 1 EQM and 3 EQMs per mile flown.

When you fly an American Airlines partner like Alaska Airlines, you’ll earn fewer Elite Qualifying Miles per mile flown.

Check here for the full details about how many elite qualifying miles you’ll earn for flights on American Airlines and their partners.

What If You Were NOT Targeted?

  1. What if you are not sure if you have been targeted because you may have deleted the email. Is there somewhere else to find out if you were?

  2. Were invites sent by email or snail mail? I have two months of mail to go through to look for it if the latter …

  3. I would be interested if I got the offer with 25,000 bonus miles. The problem I see is that Platinum status today is not even as valuable as gold status of 2 years back with the limited earning and bonus miles from flights. Upgrades today as Platinum are as likely as golds a couple of years ago.
