It’s always fun to get a new gadget.  Especially one that will save me money on my monthly phone bill!

To use Project Fi, I decided on the Nexus 5X with the higher memory option.  And this phone has an Android operating system.  So you’d be able to use it with the RadPad app to meet minimum spending!

After ordering online, it only took a few days for the package to arrive via FedEx.

Given the phone works internationally, it would be nice if the phone came with a charger that is compatible in different countries.

Next, I inserted the SIM card to prepare for activation.

  1. I recently switched to Project Fi and have had a great experience using it in the US and in Ireland.

  2. I recently switched from to Project Fi after updating phone to Nexus 6P. My wife has I Phone 6 which
we moved to pay as you go Verizon. We are house Sitters and have been in N. California, Canada and are currently in England in last 4 months. Project Fi has been just super. Our Total bill is running less than half our old Verizon bill with no change in use habits. I am very pleased.

  3. @Regina – Great to hear!

@Kenny – Thanks for sharing! I love how affordable it is as well!

  4. I’ve used the same Nexus 5X in Japan and Mexico… Data worked great, GPS was awesome when looking for sites, and my few limited voice calls worked fine. The calls were charged by the minute, but I knew that before I answered and dialed. I spent less in Japan than with ATT in America. Love Project fi

  5. That’s great! I bought one, it worked for about two weeks and done. I was given a “refurbished ” phone. I worked many hours to pay for my newest generation phone and feel insulted by everyone involved. Thanks for letting me vent.
