Via Doctor of Credit, when you join Delta SkyMiles Dining and spend at least $30 on 3 separate dining visits, you’ll earn 3,000 Delta miles.

This is a nice bonus!  And an even better deal for folks with AMEX Delta cards, like the AMEX Gold Delta card personal and small business cards and the AMEX Platinum Delta cards.

That’s because cardholders can use Pay With Miles to book paid Delta tickets, with no blackout dates, at a rate of 1 cent per mile.  Meaning this bonus is worth at least $30 in Delta flights for AMEX Delta cardholders!

Through August 31, 2016, folks who join the Delta SkyMiles Dining program, register their credit card, create a dining profile online, and opt-in to get emails from SkyMiles Dining, can earn up to 3,000 Delta miles.

When you register for the promotion and spend at least $30 (including tax and tip) at participating restaurants with your registered card, you’ll earn:

  • 500 Delta miles for your first dining visit
  • 1,000 Delta miles for your second dining visit
  • 1,500 Delta miles for your third dining visit

Note:   Folks with Delta elite status will earn 1,000 Delta miles for their first visit, for a total of up to 3,500 Delta miles through this promotion.

To get the bonus, you must also complete a survey within 30 days of eating at a participating restaurant.  And you can only get a bonus one time per restaurant per day.  Meaning you can’t eat at the same restaurant 3 times in one day and expect to get the full 3,000 Delta miles bonus.

It will take 4 to 6 weeks after you complete the online survey for the bonus Delta miles to show in your frequent flyer account.

Is This a Good Deal?

Folks with AMEX Delta cards can book Delta flights (with no blackout dates) using Pay With Miles at a rate of 1 cent per mile.  So this bonus is worth at least $30 in Delta flights for AMEX Delta cardholders, if you are able to earn all 3,000 Delta bonus miles.

And using Delta miles for award flights can make 3,000 Delta miles worth more than $30.

Plus, you can pay for your meals with a registered card that earns bonus points on dining like the Chase Sapphire Preferred or the Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express.  Or with a card you’re working on meeting minimum spending requirements.

You can read more about the Delta SkyMiles Dining program here.

I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to earn bonus miles with this deal, but if there are restaurants on the list I like, I might be tempted. 😉

Let me know if you decide to register for this promotion!

  1. Does it work if I purchase gift cards?

  2. You must dine AND complete the surveys at all three places within the first 30 days. Also, this is for new members only.
This blog USED TO include this type of information when highlighting a promotion. Now, it’s just all about the promotion. Let’s forget the caveats and ‘howevers’.

  3. @Julian – It will likely work if you purchase the gift cards directly from the restaurant. But they must code as a restaurant purchase. So it could be worth a shot if you have a favorite restaurant you visit a lot!

  4. Sept 16 and this offer is still available. Really like the gift card idea!
