Through August 31, 2016, folks who join the Delta SkyMiles Dining program, register their credit card, create a dining profile online, and opt-in to get emails from SkyMiles Dining, can earn up to 3,000 Delta miles.
When you register for the promotion and spend at least $30 (including tax and tip) at participating restaurants with your registered card, you’ll earn:
- 500 Delta miles for your first dining visit
- 1,000 Delta miles for your second dining visit
- 1,500 Delta miles for your third dining visit
Note: Folks with Delta elite status will earn 1,000 Delta miles for their first visit, for a total of up to 3,500 Delta miles through this promotion.
To get the bonus, you must also complete a survey within 30 days of eating at a participating restaurant. And you can only get a bonus one time per restaurant per day. Meaning you can’t eat at the same restaurant 3 times in one day and expect to get the full 3,000 Delta miles bonus.
It will take 4 to 6 weeks after you complete the online survey for the bonus Delta miles to show in your frequent flyer account.
Is This a Good Deal?
Folks with AMEX Delta cards can book Delta flights (with no blackout dates) using Pay With Miles at a rate of 1 cent per mile. So this bonus is worth at least $30 in Delta flights for AMEX Delta cardholders, if you are able to earn all 3,000 Delta bonus miles.
Plus, you can pay for your meals with a registered card that earns bonus points on dining like the Chase Sapphire Preferred or the AMEX Premier Rewards Gold. Or with a card you’re working on meeting minimum spending requirements.
I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to earn bonus miles with this deal, but if there are restaurants on the list I like, I might be tempted. 😉
Let me know if you decide to register for this promotion!
