Earlier this week I wrote about a targeted AMEX Offer to get $200 back on combined purchases of $1,000+ with Delta.

And I mentioned that for similar previous AMEX offers, purchasing Delta gift cards usually qualified for the deal.  So if you didn’t have any upcoming Delta flights, you could purchase gift cards and use them for flights at a later date.

I also promised to update you on whether the deal worked for me.

I bought 4 $250 Delta gift cards online and got the $200 statement credit from AMEX

So if you qualified for this deal and registered your AMEX card, you CAN buy Delta gift cards now to use later.  And your purchase will qualify for the AMEX deal!

That’s good news for folks who don’t have a specific trip planned but want to take advantage of the savings.

It’s easy to buy Delta gift cards online.

  2. @Ben – This is a targeted offer so you’ll need to check to see if your AMEX cards qualify. You can read this post about syncing your AMEX cards for American Express Offers like this one: http://millionmilesecrets.com/2014/08/07/amex-sync/

  3. Are only the DL AMEX targeted for this offer? Do you know if any other AMEX’s are?
