Earlier this week I wrote about a targeted AMEX Offer to get $200 back on combined purchases of $1,000+ with Delta.
And I mentioned that for similar previous AMEX offers, purchasing Delta gift cards usually qualified for the deal. So if you didn’t have any upcoming Delta flights, you could purchase gift cards and use them for flights at a later date.
I also promised to update you on whether the deal worked for me.
And here’s what I found!
Buying Delta Gift Cards With My Qualified AMEX Card
I bought 4 $250 Delta gift cards online and got the $200 statement credit from AMEX!
That’s good news for folks who don’t have a specific trip planned but want to take advantage of the savings.
It’s easy to buy Delta gift cards online.
I chose to get physical gift cards in the mail.
There’s a ~$5 shipping fee. But this isn’t a big deal, because I’ll be getting a $200 statement credit for using my registered AMEX card!
Shortly after making the purchase, I got an email from American Express confirming that I’d redeemed the offer!
The process was simple. So if you registered your targeted AMEX card but don’t have a specific trip in mind, I’d suggest buying Delta gift cards to lock-in the savings!
