1. Buy Big Ticket Items at Wholesale Clubs
Wholesale clubs like Costco don’t just sell groceries. They sell quality big ticket items too, like furniture, appliances, televisions, jewelry, sporting and fitness equipment, and computers!
And Costco is known for its excellent customer service in case you don’t like an item.
So if you have any big purchases planned, it’s worth checking to see if your local wholesale club carries it!
Note: Purchases of gas, wholesale club specialty service purchases such as travel, insurance, cell phone and home improvement purchases, are not included in the 5X bonus category.
2. Buy Gifts in Advance
Wholesale clubs also sell things like toys, books, clothing, and other items that make good gifts. So you could buy a Christmas, birthday, and anniversary gift now. And earn 5X points for your purchase!
If you’re buying gifts in advance, it also gives you a chance to keep an eye out for sales. Because you never know when Costco might offer a coupon for that kayak you’ve been eying. 😉
3. Pay for Drinks With Your Freedom Card
Many nightclubs, lounges, and bars are coded as restaurants. So use your Freedom card to buy drinks and get 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points.
Or buy the first round for your friends and earn even more!
4. Pay for a Catered Event
Are you throwing a birthday party, office party, or big get-together? Check to see if your favorite restaurants offer catering services. And use your Freedom card to pay the bill!
5. Pay for a Friend’s Meal
Have a friend who only uses debit or cash? You could take him or her out to dinner, pay the bill with you Freedom card, and get paid back in cash.
Or treat your friend to a free meal because you’re earning 5X points anyway!
