With the Ink Plus® Business Credit Card, you’ll:

Earn 60,000 bonus points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

Plus:

  • Earn 5 points per $1 on the first $50,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on cellular phone, landline, internet and cable TV services each account anniversary year
  • Earn 2 points per $1 on the first $50,000 spent in combined purchases at gas stations and hotel accommodations when purchased directly with the hotel each account anniversary year
  • Earn 1 point per $1 on all other purchases – with no limit to the amount you can earn

This card doesn’t add foreign transaction fees, so it’s good to use abroad.  The $95 annual fee is NOT waived for the first year.

And it earns Chase Ultimate Rewards points, which are my favorite because they:

Remember, if you’re near a Chase branch, there’s a better in-branch offer for 70,000 bonus points.  But if you’re not, or prefer online applications, the 60,000 point offer is still a very good deal!

Auto-Pay Your Business Internet, Phone, and Cable Bills for Easy Bonus Points!

This is a terrific card for small business owners, especially folks who spend a lot in bonus categories.

By paying common small business expenses, like cell phone, internet, and cable, with the Chase Ink Plus each month, you can earn thousands of bonus points each year without even thinking about it!

Let’s say your monthly bill includes:

  • $100 for cell phone
  • $50 for internet
  • $100 for cable / Netflix

You’ll have $250 in expenses that fall under the 5X point bonus category of the Chase Ink Plus!  And you’d earn 1,250 Chase Ultimate Rewards points each month you use the card to pay those bills ($250 X 5 points per $1 = 1,250).

Turning On Automatic Payment Takes Little More Than 1 Mouse Click

Because the 5X bonus category of the Chase Ink Plus includes recurring bills like phone and internet, it is a good strategy to set up automatic bill payment.  This way you can earn 1,250 Chase Ultimate Rewards points per month without even thinking about it.  That’s 15,000 points per year (1,250 points X 12 months = 15,000)!

Note:   The Chase Ink Cash® Business Card has the same bonus categories as the Chase Ink Plus, but does NOT come with the $95 annual fee.  And you will only earn 5X points per $1 on the first $25,000 you spend in the bonus category each year.

But you can NOT transfer your points to Chase’s travel partners unless you also hold the Chase Ink Plus, Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, or Chase Ink Bold (no longer available to new applicants).

Big Travel With Auto-Pay & a Chase Business Card

You can have lots of fun with 15,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points.  That’s because Chase has valuable transfer partners like United Airlines, Southwest, and Hyatt.  With transfer partners, your 15,000 points can go a long way!

For example, you can transfer your points to Southwest for BIG savings.  Southwest award flights are based on the cost of each ticket, but 15,000 points are more than enough for a one-way ticket to any of Southwest’s international destinations.

Southwest points are worth between 72 and 80 points per $1.  So 15,000 Southwest points are worth ~$200 towards award flights (15,000 Chase points / 76 Southwest points = $197).

  1. Might want to mention – I think the Chase Ink + gets you 2% back on hotels (booked directly through hotels) whereas the no annual fee does not get you this. Besides the $95 annual fee, the 5% category being a max of $25,000 instead of $50,000, and the inability to transfer to Chase’s travel partners, I believe that’s the only difference with the cards.

  2. Do you have a full list of websites that generate the 5%?

  3. I applied and got the chase ink plus business card at an in branch location, and 2 months in I have not been charged the 95$ annual fee.

  4. Are you sure Netflix earns 5X points? I don’t think they are merchant coded correctly to hit the 5X bonus, but it’s been 6 months or more since I last checked.
