Here’s how to find the deal!

With Delta’s current award travel deal, you can book award tickets for as little as 5,000 Delta miles one-way in coach.  And for as few as 9,000 Delta miles in their economy comfort seats, for extras like more legroom and free beverages!

The offer is good for award flights booked by July 18, 2016.  And for travel between August 23, 2016, and February 10, 2017.

Example one-way flights in coach include:

  • Atlanta to Chicago for 5,000 Delta miles
  • San Francisco to Salt Lake City for 7,500 Delta miles
  • Los Angeles to Seattle for 7,000 Delta miles

If you have an upcoming trip planned on one of the qualifying routes, this deal is a no-brainer.  So book now before it expires!

But don’t forget, you should always comparison shop with other airlines to make sure you’re getting the best deal.

Because, for example, British Airways offers coach flights under 650 miles on American Airlines and Alaska Airlines for 7,500 British Airways Avios points each way.  And trips under 700 miles in coach on United Airlines cost 10,000 United Airlines miles each way.

So you might be able to pay even fewer miles on other airlines!  But if you have Delta miles to use, this sale might improve your chances of flying on an award ticket, because sometimes it’s hard to find award flights on a certain airline for the exact dates you want!

Looking for More Delta Miles?

You could transfer AMEX Membership Rewards points to Delta at a 1:1 ratio.  Or transfer Starwood points to Delta miles at a 1:1 ratio and get a 5,000 mile bonus for every 20,000 Starwood points you transfer.

Note:   Starwood points can take up to 4 weeks to transfer, although in my experience it takes 2 to 12 days.
