This is a terrific new opportunity to meet minimum spending requirements on a new Visa card!
And it’s a great deal if you have the Chase Freedom Visa, which earns 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points (5% cash back) at wholesale clubs on up to $1,500 in combined spending each quarter in the bonus categories through December 31, 2016, when you register.
I’ll remind you of the best Visa cards to make the most of your Costco spending!
Use Visa at Costco Starting Today!
That’s great news for folks who shop at Costco for everyday purchases, like groceries and household supplies. And it’s a new easy way to help meet minimum spending requirements on all Visa cards to earn a sign-up bonus!
So say you’re trying to meet the minimum spending requirement on your new Chase Sapphire Preferred (my favorite card for Big Travel with Small Money). You can now use it in-store or online at Costco for purchases you’d be making anyway. That makes it easier to earn the sign-up bonus!
Earn Bonus Points on Costco Purchases
You’ll now be able to earn extra miles & points at Costco with Visa cards that have wholesale clubs as a bonus category.
If you have the Chase Freedom, register it each quarter to earn 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on up to $1,500 in combined spending each quarter in the bonus categories through December 31, 2016! That’s because Chase recently extended the bonus when you register, through the end of the 2016.
So, if you spend the maximum of $1,500 each quarter at wholesale clubs through the rest of the year, you’ll earn 7,500 Chase Ultimate Rewards points or $75 cash back each quarter. That’s a total of 22,500 Chase Ultimate Rewards points ($225 cash back) in 2016 (5X points X $1,500 X 3 quarters).
Note: Not all warehouse club purchases qualify. The bonus doesn’t include gas, fuel, or wholesale club specialty service purchases such as travel, insurance, cell phone and home improvement.
You could also use the Chase Freedom Unlimited Visa to earn 1.5% cash back on all purchases, including warehouse clubs. No need to remember to rotating categories or registering required!
Or consider the Bank AmeriCard Cash Rewards Visa, which now earns 2% back at wholesale clubs including Costco, on up to $2,500 in spending each quarter.
