Folks on the myFICO forums report there are no more foreign transaction fees with the Bank of America Alaska Airlines card.  Now you can use the card overseas without the 3% fee!

This makes the card a better deal for folks who collect Alaska Airlines miles and travel abroad frequently.

You can use Alaska Airlines miles you earn from the card for award flights on Alaska Airlines or any of its airline partners, including Air France, Icelandair, and most recently Japan Airlines!

What’s the Deal?

I checked the Bank of America Alaska Airlines application page and they’ve removed the 3% foreign transaction fee for new applications.

If you already have the card, you won’t pay foreign transaction fees beginning June 1, 2016.

Also, starting June 1, 2016, there will be a higher 30,000 mile sign-up bonus on the card.

The current sign-up bonus is 25,000 Alaska Airlines miles when you’re approved.  Plus, new cardholders get a $100 statement credit after spending $1,000 on purchases within the first 90 days of account opening.  That more than covers the $75 annual fee.

That said, my friend recently earned the $100 statement credit on her 2nd Alaska Airlines card, while her 1st card was already open.

Looking for ideas on how to use the sign-up bonus?  Here’s my list of 10 ways to use Alaska Airlines miles!
