With 35,000 Starwood points for Cash & Points stays, you can get:
- 23 nights at a Starwood Category 1 hotel (plus $690)

Cash & Points can save you thousands of dollars!
Let’s look at where you can spend a week, and save some serious cash, with Starwood points!
Note: Some Starwood hotels (especially resorts) add pricey resort fees to paid and award nights. Before you book, check the hotel policy to decide if it’s worth it for you. And here are my tips on how to avoid them! I’ve noted in my examples which hotels add resort fees.
1. Four Points by Sheraton Miami Beach
The Four Points by Sheraton Miami Beach is located on the Atlantic Ocean in Miami Beach. And it’s near all the nightlife, shopping, and art deco architecture that world-famous South Beach is known for.
A week here in June costs ~$1,488. Or, you can pay 35,000 Starwood points and $525.
That makes your points worth ~$963 ($1,488 – $525 cash co-pay) – nearly 3 cents each. So you get a fantastic value from your points! And it’s a great way to save cash on a relaxing beach vacation with a partner or loved one!
2. Walt Disney World Dolphin
If you want to take the family to Orlando for a Disney vacation, consider staying at the Walt Disney World Dolphin with Starwood points. And check out my series on how to use miles and points to save money at Disney!
If you stay for a week and explore all the Disney parks in the area, you’ll pay ~$1,554 plus $175 for resort fees ($25 per day X 7 days).
Note: Park tickets are NOT included. And this is a very popular hotel, so you’ll have to be flexible with your dates.
When you book an award stay, you’ll still be responsible for the resort fees. But you can use 35,000 Starwood points to offset over $1,000 on your stay (~$1,554 – $525 cash co-pay).
That could help you give the kids an experience they’ll never forget. And, you’ll save over $1,000!
3. Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay
The Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay is located on the Big Island of Hawaii. Spend a week in paradise enjoying activities like scuba diving and snorkeling, hula lessons, and cultural tours.
You can visit Hawaii Volcanoes National Park for a fun day trip. It’s only a ~2 hour drive away. And you’d get plenty of beautiful ocean views along the way!
A week in May costs ~$1,719, including ~$219 in resort fees.
So your 35,000 Starwood points are worth ~$975 ($1,500 – $525). This would be a great way to save on a romantic getaway or honeymoon!
4. Palacio del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Cusco
The Palacio del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Cusco, is a fantastic place to stay during your adventures in Peru according to folks on TripAdvisor who gave it a 5-star rating.
It’s located in the historic city center of Cusco, and is walking distance to restaurants, museums. And it’s a cab ride away from the train station where you can catch a ride to fabled Machu Picchu.
A 7-night stay here costs ~$2,598. But when you choose Cash & Points, you’ll pay 35,000 Starwood points and a $525 cash co-pay. So your Starwood points cover more than $2,000 toward your visit ($2,598 – $525 co-pay)!
In this example, each Starwood point is worth ~6 cents apiece. That’s an amazing deal!
And, you’d have plenty of time to try the local dishes like Lomo Saltado (Peruvian stir-fry) or ceviche made with fresh seafood!
5. The Westin Cape Town
Stay at the The Westin Cape Town when you visit South Africa to have a great base for exploring the Cape Town’s nearby vineyards and national parks.
You’d pay ~$1,615 for a weeks’ time here. But with Cash & Points, your 35,000 Starwood points are worth over $1,000 for your stay ($1,616 – $525 cash co-pay).
Again, this is a fantastic deal. And it goes to show you can get great values in nearly every corner of the world with Starwood points!
6. Aloft London Excel
London can be pricey, but you can save on your visit with Starwood points at the Aloft London Excel.
You’ll be in the East End neighborhood, with easy access to The Tube to explore other parts of the city. You could even stay here this summer when the new Tate Modern Art Museum opens. And Emily says you’ve got to see the Victoria and Albert museum too!
A week in London can cost ~$1,855. Or you could pay 35,000 Starwood points and $525 with the Cash & Points rate!
In this case, your 35,000 Starwood points are worth ~4 cents each!
If you want to see more of Europe, London is a great place to get cheap flights to other cities on budget airlines!
7. The Westin Playa Bonita Panama
Spend some time in Central America and get to know the local nature. Take eco-tours to spot wildlife, kayak, or hike. Or enjoy the beaches in Panama.
A week here is ~$1,810 out-of-pocket. But your 35,000 Starwood points covers almost ~$1,300 of it after your $525 cash co-pay.
For your stay in Panama, or any of the other hotels on this list, you’re only paying $75 per night with the Cash & Points option.
Take a look at other Starwood Category 4 hotels to see where else you can spend a week with 35,000 Starwood points on the Cash & Points rate!
The sign-up bonus of 35,000 Starwood points on the AMEX Starwood personal and small business cards is enough for week-long stays at Starwood Category 4 hotels all over the world with the Cash & Points option.
You’ll pay $525 cash co-pay ($75 a night) plus 35,000 Starwood points (5,000 Starwood points per night) for 7 nights at hotels like the Palacio del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Cusco in Peru. Or the Walt Disney World Dolphin in Orlando.
Cash & Points is an excellent way to stretch your Starwood points into more award nights – even week-long vacations – at Starwood hotels!
