1.   Earn 50,000 United Airlines Miles With a Targeted Card Offer

Folks on Reddit report a targeted offer for the Chase United Airlines Explorer card when they visit this link and log into their United Airlines account.

If you see the offer, you’ll earn 50,000 United Airlines miles when you spend $1,000 on purchases in the 1st 3 months of account opening.

No 50,000 United Airlines Mile Offer for Me! But Check to See If You Were Targeted

You’ll also get a $50 statement credit after your 1st purchase.  And you can add an authorized user to earn 5,000 bonus United Airlines miles after they make a purchase within the 1st 3 months.

I checked my account and only got the regular offer to earn 30,000 United Airlines miles after meeting the minimum spending requirements.  But if you’re targeted, this is a terrific way to earn lots of United Airlines miles.  It’s worth trying!

2.   Earn 2,500 Bonus Southwest Points (Targeted)

Check your email!  There’s a targeted offer to earn 2,500 bonus Southwest points when you spend at least $5,000 on the Chase Southwest Premier or Chase Southwest Plus card February 1, 2016, through March 31, 2016.

The 2,500 bonus points will NOT count toward the Southwest Companion Pass.  But the $5,000 you spend on purchases will.  And in total, you’ll earn at least 7,500 Southwest points.

That’s worth ~$107 to ~$128 toward award flights on Southwest.  And nearly twice that for folks with the Southwest Companion Pass.  Let me know if you got the offer!

3.   Free TripIt Pro for Some Barclaycard Arrival Plus Cardmembers

Link:  Barclaycard Arrival Plus World Elite MasterCard

Last year, Barclaycard made changes to the Barclaycard Arrival Plus card.  One of them was discontinuing free TripIt Pro subscriptions for cardholders.  But some folks report receiving an email for an extra year of TripIt Pro to make up for it.

If you got the email, you must enroll by February 28, 2016, to take advantage of the offer.

Here’s my post on how to save time (and possibly money!) with TripIt Pro.

And remember, you can earn 40,000 Barclaycard Arrival miles (worth ~$420 toward travel purchases of $100+) when you sign-up for the Barclaycard Arrival Plus and spend $3,000 within the 1st 90 days of opening your account.

4.   Get up to 8% Cash Back When You Book Travel

Via Free Frequent Flyer Miles, you can earn cash back when you make travel purchases through the TopCashBack shopping portal, including:

  • Accor Hotels – 8% cash back
  • Choice Hotels – 8% cash back
  • Expedia – up to 8% cash back
  • – up to 7% cash back
  • Marriott – up to 7% cash back

This is an easy way to get a discount on purchases you were going to make anyway, especially if you have travel coming up!

Shopping portals are an easy way to earn bonus miles, points, or cash back.  I recommend checking a portal tracker like Cashback Monitor to make sure you’re always getting the highest return on your purchases.

Let me know if you received or redeemed any of today’s offers!

  1. You can always get the 50k united offer by just going to the branch

  2. Is the 18 month rule applied? I did see the 50K bonus miles if I spend $2,000 but I applied this card 10 months ago and got the 50K bonus miles. Thanks.

  3. @Eric – I didn’t know that was still an option. Thank you for reminding us!

@KL – Chase says this bonus isn’t available if you currently have the card, or have had the card within the past 24 months.

  4. My gf just recently got the Premiere and business cards, but not sure she received the offers. Too bad it doesn’t count toward CP, but you’re right, standard points earned still do fine. I think I’ll just transfer Club Carlson points anyway.

Also need to ask Barclays what’s up with not targeting me for the TripIt renewal? I kept the card for a few years since I think it’s a useful card, plus I still actively use it. Shame that I get snubbed for free stuff while others, who presumably called to threaten cancelling the card, are offered a break. On the other hand, TripIt already pre-empted the cancellations by offering Barclaycard members a $29 renewal rate for the next year.

  5. The 50K United targeted offer is with $2,000 spending, not $1,000.

I have the business version of United Airlines Explore card and I’m targeted for this offer. Can I still apply and get 50K?

  6. I was targeted for the Southwest 2,500 points offer. It is a nice deal but there is no way I can complete the $5,000 in 2 months so I do not intend to go through with it. Though, if the opportunity is there for me to meet the requirement I will definitely aim towards it!

  7. I’m being offered 50K after $2k spend. Might do it = my wife has the card already.

  8. I was targeted for the Southwest 2500 points

  9. I am being held up waiting for a referral from Chase that a family member sent for the Chase Sapphire Preferred. Any ideas as to how long that takes?

I did receive the 2,500 bonus points offer from SWA but did not feel it was worth the 5k spend. Also got the United 50k offer from Chase but am again patiently waiting for the CSP offer.

  10. I did not get the Southwest email, however I got one at the end of last year to get bonus points when you spend $15,000 between Nov 1, 2015 and Jan. 31, 2106. This deal is much better – wish I could take advantage of it.

  11. could you still apply for united personal 50k. if you already have its business version and had previous personal one cancelled 24 months?

  12. Is it safe to assume that since I don’t have a United account already that I am NOT targeted?

And yes, I was targeted for the Southwest offer, but that seems like a LOT of spend.

  13. Rjdwigg,
I could never get the Chase referral links to work. I called Chase and they said to use the Facebook post. The referral link posts instantly to your Facebook and can be used immediately.

  14. I referred my daughter for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card and after 3 unsuccessful attempts, I called Chase. I was told that if she had ever checked a box on an advertisement asking not to be contacted by Chase she would not get the referral. She had done this! So I referred her again using a different email address ( not associated with the no contact request) for my daughter and it went right through in a couple days.

  15. @rjdwigg I had the same problem with Chase, my sister-in-law was waiting for the email. What you should do is go back to the referral page and pull out the link from the twitter invite and send that to your family member. That should work!

@Million Mile Secrets You misquoted the 24 month bonus rule; The 24 months applies to the last time your earned the bonus, does not have to do with when you last had the card.

  17. Looking for referral/link for SW plus with either 40k or 50k reward points. I’ve read in other blogs that referrals are done only by phone. Do you know if this is true?

  18. I was able to get the 50K offer for the United Explorer Card after 2k spend. It also has $50 after 1st purchase and 5k by adding an authorized user. I applied and was not instantly approved so I called recon and moved around some credit and I was approved. The account is already showing when I log in. Woo, hoo!

  19. Thanks. Approved.

  20. Please use my link to apply for a Chase Southwest Plus Credit Card. 50000 Rapid Rewards points after $2000 spend. I am trying to earn the companion pass to take my family to Disney!

I also have a referral link for the Chase Southwest Preferred Credit Card.

If you have both of above cards the Chase Sapphire Preferred card uses Ultimate Reward Points which can be used for travel on any airline. You earn 50000 UR points after the $4000 spend. You also can earn $5000 points for adding an authorized card user. Great card for travel points! My referral link is below:

    Thank you very much!!
