Now, The Points Guy reports a targeted offer for the Chase United MileagePlus Club card with the $450 annual fee waived for the 1st year. The card includes full United Club Membership, which normally costs $550 a year if you don’t have elite status.
This could be a terrific deal for folks who fly United Airlines frequently. Or if your home airport has a United Club lounge!
Emily and I don’t earn a commission from this card, but we’ll always tell you about the best deals!
I’ll explain how to find out if you’re targeted!
What’s the Deal?
I don’t often write about the Chase United Club card, because it doesn’t have a sign-up bonus. But some folks like it because with the card, you get full United Club lounge membership at a cheaper rate than United Airlines charges!
The annual fee on this card is usually $450. But some folks have been targeted for an offer with the annual fee WAIVED for the 1st year!
To find out if you’re targeted for the offer, enter your United Airlines account number and password on this page.
With United Club membership, you can access 45+ United Club lounges worldwide, plus certain Star Alliance partner lounges. And at United Club lounges, you can bring 2 adult guests (or 1 adult and dependent children) with you for free.
With this card, you’ll also get:
- First and 2nd checked bags free for yourself and 1 companion on the same reservation when you fly United Airlines and pay for your ticket with the card
- Priority check-in, security screening (where available), boarding, and baggage handling for yourself and companions on the same reservation
- Hyatt Platinum elite status (better rooms when available, late check-out, 15% points bonus on paid stays)
- Hertz President’s Circle elite status (vehicle upgrades, bonus points)
- 2 United Airlines miles per $1 you spend on United Airlines
- 1.5 United Airlines miles per $1 you spend on everything else
- No foreign transaction fees
The regular offer for this card includes a $100 statement credit after your 1st purchase. But I’d rather have the annual fee waived for the 1st year!
Who Should Consider This Offer?
For folks who frequently travel to airports with United Club lounges, the waived annual fee offer might be a no-brainer – if you’re targeted!
But keep in mind, there is NO sign-up bonus. So if you’d rather earn miles and points for Big Travel, you might consider other cards which offer lots of miles & points when you meet the minimum spending requirements.
This is a particularly good deal if you collect United Airlines miles, because you’ll earn 2 United Airlines miles per $1 you spend on United Airlines, and 1.5 United Airlines miles per $1 you spend on everything else.
And you could save big on checked bag fees if you pay for your United Airlines tickets with your card, because it’s free to check your 1st and 2nd bag! That’s worth $60 each way on a domestic flight!
This is a very good deal! You’ll pay nothing in the 1st year and you’ll have the opportunity to check out United Club lounges to see if you like them (and the other card perks!). Once you’ve had the card for ~10 months, you can decide whether you want to keep it for another year and pay the annual fee.
Some folks are being targeted for an offer on the Chase United Club card with the $450 annual fee waived for the 1st year.
This is a great deal because the card comes with full United Club lounge membership (worth up to $550). That gets you into United Club (and certain Star Alliance partner) lounges for free – which means a quiet spot to relax, grab a cocktail or snack, or snooze before your flight!
The regular offer for this card includes a $100 statement credit after your 1st purchase. But keep in mind, there is NO sign-up bonus.
So if you prefer earning lots of miles & points for Big Travel quickly, you might want to consider other cards.
