UPDATE: The Chase Sapphire Preferred no longer earns 3X points on the 1st Friday of the month.
Dining out today? Remember to pay with your Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card to earn 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points!
You usually earn 2X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on dining (and travel!) with the Chase Sapphire Preferred. But on the 1st Friday of each month over the last couple of years, you’ve been able to earn 1 extra point per $1 spent on dining.
However, this deal will NOT return next year, so this is your last chance!
I wouldn’t go out of my way to earn 1 more point per $1 on dining, but I know some folks who would. 😉 And it’s an easy way to get a few extra Chase Ultimate Rewards points, if you already have plans to dine out.
This deal isn’t only for traditional restaurants.
You can also typically earn 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points at bars and nightclubs that serve food when you pay with Chase Sapphire Preferred.
There’s NO coupon or registration required. Simply use your card and you’ll earn automatically earn the 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points!
I love earning Chase Ultimate Rewards points because they give me flexibility. You can redeem them for:
- Cash back at 1 cent per point
- Travel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal at 1.25 cents per point
- Or transfer to airline and hotel partners for Big Travel! (My favorite use.)
Plus, you can stack this deal for up to an additional 5X miles or points by registering your Chase Sapphire Preferred card with Rewards Network and dining at a participating location. See my previous post on 1st Friday for details on how the points can add up!
