Here are all the ways to earn Hyatt points.

You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio if you have the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Ink Plus, or (no longer offered) Chase Ink Bold card.

If you have the Chase Freedom or Chase Ink Cash cards, you can combine your points and transfer them to Hyatt as long as you have 1 of the other cards!

And the Chase Freedom has rotating 5X points categories that include everyday purchases at department stores or dining out.  And through December 31, 2015, you can earn up to 15,000 bonus Chase Ultimate Rewards points shopping at Amazon.

Here’s my review of the Chase Sapphire Preferred.  It’s the #1 card I recommend for folks to new to our miles & points hobby.  And here’s why Chase Ultimate Rewards points are my favorite type of points!

The bonus of 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points is nearly enough for 2 to 4 award nights at Hyatt’s top hotels (easily worth $1,000 or more)!

1.   Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa

Emily and I had a great time relaxing at the 5-star Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa in India.  And folks on TripAdvisor like the beach, views, and ambiance of this hotel, too!

Rates here start at ~$172 with taxes or 15,000 Hyatt points per night.

There are several restaurants to enjoy, including a few with Indian cuisine (the spicier the better!).  And there’s Camp Hyatt with lots of activities for the kids.

Explore 45 Acres of Beautiful Lagoons and Tropical Scenery. And Don’t Forget to Try the Delicious Local Dishes!

The grounds are spread out over 45 acres, so there’s plenty to see and explore, including lagoons and lots of gorgeous tropical scenery.

When you meet the minimum spending requirements on the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, you’ll have at least 54,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points.  And, you can earn 5,000 more points when you add an authorized user, for a total of 59,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

That’s almost enough for 4 nights here, which saves you close to $800.  Park Hyatt hotels are Hyatt’s top luxury brand, so this is a good deal!

2.   Grand Hyatt Macau

The Grand Hyatt Macau is located in South China in the “City of Dreams” complex, which is a bit like Las Vegas!  Emily and I stayed here and enjoyed the interesting sights and shopping, and of course the food!

Shop, Try Your Luck, or Relax by the Pool That’s Heated Year-Round

You can stay inside the complex to swim in the heated pool or gamble, or head out to hike along the beach at nearby Coloane Island.

Nights here cost ~$343 after taxes and fees, or 20,000 Hyatt points per night.

Again, you’ll earn 54,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after you complete the minimum spending and another 5,000 points for adding an authorized user.  59,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points is nearly enough for 3 nights here, which is worth ~$1,029!

3.   Grand Hyatt Shanghai

Nights at the Grand Hyatt Shanghai cost ~$244 after taxes or 15,000 Hyatt points per night.  Save ~$732 on 3 nights here with the sign-up bonus from the Chase Sapphire Preferred and have 5,000 points left over for more Big Travel with Small Money.  In fact, it’s enough for an award night at a Hyatt Category 1 hotel!

Shanghai Is an Amazing City Filled With Museums, Galleries, Shops, and Cafes. Save Over $700 on 3 Nights Here With Your Chase Ultimate Rewards Points!

You’ll be on Cloud 9 here…literally!  This hotel is is located on the 53rd to 87th floors of the Jin Mao Tower, and was once the highest hotel in the world.  Relax with a drink or spa treatment in the air, and enjoy the city views.

When you get back on the ground, you’ll have easy access to the city with plenty of metro stops nearby.  And folks on TripAdvisor love the location and service at the hotel.

This hotel is on my dream list!

4.   Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills

Nightly rates at the Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills start at ~$810 or 25,000 Hyatt points per night.  So the sign-up bonus from the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Hyatt card would be worth over ~$1,600 if you used your points or award certificates here for 2 nights!

Enjoy Views of the Tokyo Tower, and Save ~$1,620 on 2 Nights in the Heart of the City

This hotel is way up in the air too, with a rooftop bar on the 52nd floor!  It’s near the Ginza shopping district, and easy walking distance to the metro so you can visit more spots in Tokyo.

Enjoy Tokyo’s World-Famous Sushi and Sake!

This hotel is perfect for 1st-time visitors to Tokyo (and Japan!) because of its central location.  Check out the many reviewers on TripAdvisor with good things to say about the location and service here.

5.   Park Hyatt Sydney

My Mom and I recently stayed at the Park Hyatt Sydney and had a fantastic view of the world-famous Sydney Opera House for her 60th birthday!

Talk About a View!

The hotel is in The Rocks, a trendy neighborhood filled with interesting shops, bars, and cafes.  You can also walk to the tourist area, including the ferries at Circular Quay to ride over to Taronga Zoo to see the animals or Bondi Beach for surf and sun.

Rooms here are ~$726 or 30,000 Hyatt points per night.  So the 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points you’ll earn from the Chase Sapphire Preferred are almost enough for 2 nights.

Or you can use your 2 award certificates from the Chase Hyatt card and save ~$1,452 on your stay!
