Update: This offer for 10X Chase Ultimate Rewards points has expired.
Starting November 23, 2015, folks with the Chase Freedom card can earn 10X Chase Ultimate Rewards points (10% cash back) on up to $1,500 in purchases at Amazon, Zappos, Audible, and Diapers.com until the end of 2015.
Earn up to $225 back on your holiday shopping when you combine this offer with the current Freedom 5X bonus that runs through November 22, 2015.
And I’ll show you to turn these bonus points into Big Travel with Small Money!
For instance, if you were to spend $1,500 at Amazon with this deal (and you have a Chase Sapphire Preferred, Ink Plus, or Ink Bold) you’ll earn more than enough points for a 1-way ticket anywhere in the continental US, Alaska, and Canada!
I’ll explain why this deal is fantastic for holiday shopping!
What’s Going On?
Chase just announced a great deal for folks with the Chase Freedom card. From November 23, 2015, until the end of 2015, you’ll earn 10% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases at:
This new promotion will reset your cash back earnings on the Chase Freedom card on November 23, 2015.
So you can earn the normal 5% cash back in the same categories on up to $1,500 in combined purchases through November 22, 2015.
And then 10% cash back on up to $1,500 more in combined purchases in the same categories!
In total, it’s possible to earn up to $225 cash back ($75 cash back from 5% of $1,500 + $150 cash back from 10% of $1,500) or 22,500 Chase Ultimate Rewards points.
You must activate the deal by December 14, 2015, but I recommend you do it right now so you won’t forget to earn your cash back!
If you’ve already activated the bonus categories for this quarter, you do NOT have to do it again.
Thanks to reader Jessica for alerting me this morning!
Why Is This Deal So Good?
Link: Chase Freedom
I let you know yesterday about the increased sign-up bonus on the Chase Freedom card.
You can now earn 15,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points ($150) when you sign-up for the Chase Freedom card and spend $500 on purchases within the 1st 3 months of opening your account. That’s 5,000 more points than the previous offer!
The 15,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points you’ll earn after you complete the minimum spending on the Chase Freedom is worth $150 in cash back on its own.
And remember folks who also have the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Ink Plus, or Chase Ink Bold can get more from their points by transferring them to airline and hotel partners like Southwest, Hyatt, or United Airlines!
Chase Ultimate Rewards partners include:
|Chase Ultimate Rewards Airline Transfer Partners|
|British Airways||Flying Blue (Air France/KLM)||Korean Air|
|Singapore Airlines||Southwest||United Airlines|
|Chase Ultimate Rewards Hotel Transfer Partners|
So with the 10% cash back deal, it’s the equivalent of earning 10 United miles per $1 spent (or 10 Southwest points or 10 Hyatt points per $1 spent). That’s a fantastic deal any way you look at it!
If you sign-up for a new Chase Freedom card today, you’ll get it just in time for holiday shopping! And remember this card has NO annual fee, so it’s free to keep forever!
Better Than Discover it
Link: Discover it
Folks with the Discover it card can also earn up to 10% cash back at Amazon. That’s because you’ll earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in purchases until the end of the year. And the cash back is doubled after the 12th billing cycle for new cardmembers (or folks who previously registered).
But because you can combine your Chase Ultimate Rewards points into 1 account and transfer them to travel partners (if you also have the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Ink Plus, or Chase Ink Bold), I’d rather put my spending on the Chase Freedom card instead.
If you reach the $1,500 maximum before the end of the year, the Discover it card is another fantastic option for earning more cash back!
What’s Included in the Amazon Category?
Amazon is a terrific category because they sell a huge variety of merchandise, which is perfect for the busy holiday shopping season.
All purchases you make at Amazon.com, including digital downloads, Amazon.com Gift Cards, Amazon Fresh orders, Amazon Prime subscriptions, and items sold by third party merchants through Amazon.com’s marketplace are included.
This is wonderful news for holiday shoppers!
Also note Amazon Prime is specifically included in this promotion. Amazon Prime is a membership that offers:
- Free 2-day shipping
- Unlimited streaming movies and TV shows
- Unlimited music streaming
- Unlimited photo storage
- And more!
Membership costs $99, but you’ll get back ~$10, which brings the price down to $89 for 1 year!
And, when you pay with the Chase Freedom card for your holiday shopping on Amazon, it’s like 10% off on everything you purchase, in addition to any other sales or promotions you find!
This is a fantastic offer! If you have the Chase Freedom card, you can earn 10% cash back at Amazon, Zappos, Audible, and Diapers.com from November 23, 2015, through the end of the 2015 on up to $1,500 in combined purchases.
Be sure you activate this deal by December 14, 2015!
Chase will reset your cash back earnings on November 23, 2015, so you can earn the normal 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases until November 22, 2015. And then another 10% cash back on $1,500 more in combined purchases after that!
The 15,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points you’ll earn by spending $1,500 at Amazon is enough for lots of Big Travel including a 1-way ticket in the US, a free night at Hyatt, or a 1-way flight from Boston to Ireland.
I’m not fond of shopping so I’m excited about this new promotion because it lets me get gifts from my couch. 🙂
Will you be getting any holiday shopping done at Amazon this year?
