There are lots of cards with NO annual fee, and several with NO foreign transaction fees.  But which cards have NEITHER fee?

Cut Out the Fees! Find Out Which Cards Have NO Annual Fee and NO Foreign Transaction Fees!

I’ll tell you about your options, and why it’s a good idea to have one!

Cards with NO Annual Fees and NO Foreign Transaction Fees

No annual fee cards are helpful to your credit score because you can keep them long-term to extend the average age of your accounts.  And using a card responsibly for years improves your relationship with the bank.  Both will help you get approved for new cards!

And cards with NO foreign transaction fees are great to use overseas.  Because you can use them in other countries without paying extra for the privilege.

I thought it would be fun to see which cards have both features, for folks who hate fees!  (I hate fees too, but in certain cases, annual fees ARE worth it.  Other times, NOT!)

1.   Barclaycard Arrival

Barclaycard Arrival miles are worth 1 cent each towards travel purchases of $25 or more.  And you’ll earn a 5% miles rebate when you redeem miles for travel.

Plus, the Barclaycard Arrival includes chip-and-PIN technology, which makes it a terrific card to have when you’re traveling in Europe!  For example, some gas stations in Iceland only accept chip-and-PIN cards.

2.   BankAmericard Travel Rewards Card

If you take Uber a lot and want a card with no annual fee or foreign transaction fees, this could be a good option.

And you’ll earn 1.25 miles per $1 spent with the Capital One VentureOne card when you redeem for travel.

While it has no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees, it’s NOT the best 1 on this list because Capital One pulls your credit from all 3 credit bureaus.  Instead you could apply for 3 different cards to get 3 sign-up bonuses!

The Discover It Cards Are a Great Option! But Remember to Have a Backup Card Because They Aren’t as Widely Accepted as Others

If you’re looking for a card with no bonus categories to remember, the Discover it Miles card earns 1.5 miles per $1 spent (worth 1.5% back) on all purchases.  And and the end of the 1st year, your miles are matched.

That said, Discover cards are not as widely accepted as other cards, especially outside the US.  So you should always have a backup card.

5.   Barclaycard JetBlue

With this card, you’ll earn 3 JetBlue points per $1 you spend on JetBlue purchases, 2 JetBlue points per $1 you spend at restaurants and grocery stores, and 1 JetBlue point per $1 you spend on everything else.

This is a terrific card for folks who like flying JetBlue for their free in-flight Wi-Fi, free snacks, and no blackout dates on award flights.

Bottom Line

NO annual fee cards are an excellent choice because you can keep them forever and possibly boost your credit score.  That helps when you’re looking to be approved for new cards!

And cards with NO foreign transaction fees are great to take abroad.  These cards usually have an annual fee.  But many times it’s waived the 1st year.  Some (but NOT all) are worth keeping a 2nd year.

I’m curious to know which of these cards interest you the most!
