Update:   One or more card offers in this post are no longer available.  Check our Hot Deals for the latest offers.

Update:   Amazon has changed the deal.  It’s only valid for new Amazon Prime memberships and NOT gift subscriptions.

Until tonight at 11:59 pm Pacific Time, you can buy Amazon Prime (free 2-day shipping, streaming movies & TV shows, music, and more) for $67 instead of $99.

Better yet, use your Discover it card to save an additional 5% (if you’re registered) because Amazon is a bonus category this quarter.

And you’ll get your cash back doubled at the end of your 1st 12 months if you’re a new Discover it cardholder.  Or if you previously signed-up for the double cash back deal.  That reduces the price to ~$60!

  1. I’m not getting the discount rate when buying as a gift – is there a trick?

  2. Seems like it’s for new members only…

  3. I’m not getting the discount rate either. How do you purchase gift subscriptions when you have a membership?

  4. This is only for new members and the gift subscription is not working this time around.

  5. Looks like Amazon caught all the blogs and removed $67 price for gifts. You can still get it with a brand new subscription. I.e. if you already have amazon Prime you’d have to use a new email address to sign up a NEW account at the cheap price today.

  6. Following! I would love to get in on this!

  7. Why would you want to sign up for a new account just to receive the $67 price. Wouldn’t that just be overlapping essentially? For example my membership ends in June 2016, so I don’t get the point. Maybe I’m missing something.

  8. If you have access to a .edu email account–even if you’re not a student–you get an even better deal: 6 months free Amazon Prime membership, after that your membership is at 50%, currently that would be $50/year after the free 6 months.

A .edu email address is any email address that ends with .edu. You need that only to activate your Prime Membership since Amazon emails you the link there. Afterwards you can change that under settings to your regular non-edu email and still keep the membership with the student benefits.

You don’t need a referring link to get those benefits, but if you use mine, you get the same benefits and I get a $5 referring bonus. Here it is:

  9. Also Amazon says very specifically that the discount is for first year only. Not “each year.” But if you got in on the gift purchases, I suppose it could have been each year that way …
