Update:   The Citi Prestige golf perk is good for reservations made through July 23, 2017

Million Mile Secrets reader Bryn commented:

If all 4 golfers in the group are cardholders, do they all receive the waived green fee benefit?

Good question, Bryn!  Citi Prestige cardholders receive 3 free rounds of golf (more if they golf in Asia) per year at courses around the world.

You can only use the free golf for yourself, not friends or family.

But if your pals also have the Citi Prestige, they CAN get a free round at the same time as you.  But they’ll have to book their tee time separately.

If Bryn’s buddies are Citi Prestige cardholders, they also qualify for 3 free rounds of golf per year.

But you can’t book a tee time together and receive the free golf.  Each player must book separately through the GolfSwitch site and and provide their Citi Prestige card number.  Or call the Citi Prestige Concierge at 877-288-2484.

A Group of Citi Prestige Cardholders Can Play Free Golf Together – but They Have to Book Their Tee Times Separately

This only works at courses which allow you to book a tee time for 1 person.  Some courses require a minimum of 2 people to make a booking.

Once a group has booked their free rounds, it’s a good idea to call the golf course and explain that everyone is playing together.

Note:   Reservations for golf courses in Asia must be made by phone through the Citi Prestige Concierge at 877-288-2484.

Bottom Line

Citi Prestige cardholders receive 3 free rounds of golf each calendar year.  You can only use the golf for yourself, not friends or family.

But if your friends are also Citi Prestige cardholders, you can play together for free.  Each person must make their booking separately, and it must be at a course that allows folks to reserve a tee time for 1 person.

Once you’ve booked, call the course to let them know you’re playing together.

Don’t forget, anyone can earn miles or points from their golf games by booking through Golfmiles.  Register using our link by September 11, 2015, to be entered to win 10,000 airline miles!

Thanks for the question, Bryn!
