  3. Too bad, this looked like a great deal – I’m looking for a card right now with a big bonus that I can get for a big purchase next month, this would’ve fit the bill well, but that link doesn’t appear to be working. Possibly was targeted?

  4. All, I got my Citi Premiere card back in July (50K bonus), and met the min spend with no problem. After reading about the 60K bonus, I made 2 phone calls….the first attempt was calling 800 842 6596 – and got a ThankYou points rep who couldn’t offer me anything. Within a few minutes, I called again, 800 842 6596, and this time I asked to be transferred to retention. After explaining my situation, the rep came back with 5,000 bonus points (with an add’l spend of $1K over the next 3 months)….I took it.

  5. Called 800 842 6596 twice and two separate reps confirmed there was nothing they could do. The second rep informed me that he had a similar call come earlier and his supervisor dictated that they could not match the 60k offer for anyone that applied for the 50k. Maybe someone will get it.

    I wonder if Prestige is going to go to 60k?

  7. That’s odd. The linked work fine for me and was instantly approved. Maybe the page was removed temporarily or the poster updated the link. Anyway I’ve been undecided as whether to get the Prestige or Premier. This extra 10k miles was enough to sway me.

    I suggest those who want to apply try again.

  8. I’m thinking of this plan:
    First, use this 60k offer for the premier. Then after completing spend requirements, also apply to the Prestige (50k currently) as I’ve been looking at this card for some time. Does this sound reasonable? CITI seems to consider these cards separately for bonus purposes, correct?

  9. Just called and got matched. The rep was very familiar with this offer and explained that it should not be publicly available, and they are trying to eliminate it. The rep also told me that they’re not going to do this for anybody else after me (?), and so warned me to tell any “friends” I may have that wanted to call and match that it wouldn’t work. It seemed like they were getting a lot of calls about this (I also had a long time on hold).

    Strange call overall, but glad to get matched. I have a Citi Private Bank account, but that did not come up during the call.

  10. Is there a particular best number to call to try to get bumped-up to the 60k? I just applied & was approved (at 50k) Wednesday … a mere 2 days ago.

  14. Rep says it was targeted and should not have hit online. I said I just got the card in the mail last week and did one purchase ($50) and didn’t hit the annual spend. She said she could put in a request and there are no guarantees whether or not I’ll be matched. A letter will arrive letting me know the outcome.

    I just signed up for the 50K bonus offer a couple of months ago, so I am still in the first 3 mo of my spending. I spoke to the first rep who told me there was nothing they could do, that I had already accepted the lower offer. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and she put in a request for me to upgrade to the higher offer. She told me I would be getting a letter in the mail in 10-14 days advising me if it was approved. She seemed optimistic that it would. I will await that letter and let you know!

  17. I got my premiere card in June. Called Citi a couple times and was told the offer expired on Aug 28, and they would not match the 60k bonus, even after I talked to a supervisor. Hope other people can still get this !

  18. Got the premiere 50k offer a week ago. When I called to match, they said an alert went out to all customer reps about not matching the 60k offer under any circumstance. My rep said he got 13 calls today already about this. I ended up talking to a senior prep and after some convincing/complaining. He gave me an extra 5k without additional spending. He also said that the link was an error and was meant for targeted customers. They already pulled it.

  19. Called 800 842 6596, told them I just signed up recently and noticed the 60k offer. She informed me she put it in for review and I would get a letter in 5-7business days.

    Should I call back?

  20. Just applied and was approved. I had to call in since I have several other Citi cards. To get a decent credit limit, I had to agree to back off the limit on an existing Citi card. Since I don’t plan to keep it when the annual free is due, I had them bring down the limit on my American Airlines Platinum card.

  25. I got the premiere card last month and completed the $3000 min spend. I havent received the points yet so I called citi to find out if I can be eligible for the offer. The rep said I wasnt and gave me 1000 points. I then sent a message to citi asking for my account to be considered for this offer and I got a reply saying my account is now enrolled for this offer.

  28. Was approved for the Citi Prestige card/50K on Aug 26th, and called Citi on Aug 29th to match after seeing the link was still up. The agent was positive I would be matched since I was Citi Gold, but nonetheless could not guarantee it but was 99% sure they would accommodate me under the circumstances. This was a request only that was submitted over the phone, and she assured me that the decision would come to me via USPS Mail within 10 business days. I actually received the letter 2 days ago and it was a big NO, saying that I “was not solicited for the 60K offer”. I just had the opportunity to call Citi today to re-hash everything that had happened up to this point and spoke to a very nice Citi rep. She asked me where I saw the offer and I told her “online but obviously the link has been taken down so I can no longer give it to you”. I expressed my disappointment since I was a “valued” Citi Gold client. Once I realized she could not do anything further for me, I asked to be transferred to a retention representative. She informed me that the only way she could transfer me to retention was if I wanted to cancel the card. She asked” Do you want to cancel the card?” I thought quickly, “what the heck”, so I said “Yes, transfer me!” I was put on hold for at least 10 minutes. While on hold, I thought to myself I really don’t want to cancel so what do I do if they come back on the line and say they have already cancelled the card? Yikes!?!?! Anyway, an agent finally came back on the line, and much to my surprise it was the same rep! Ultimately they decided in my favor, so I couldn’t be happier. I don’t think I would recommend this step to anyone that was not a Citi Gold member who has not already requested the 60K on or around the end of August, but for me it worked! As usual, it pays to be a follower on MMS and in this instance it didn’t hurt either for me to be a Citi Gold member!
