  1. Used Aeroplan miles for family of 3 to travel in August to Tokyo, where I lived when I was a baby, and then on to Singapore to celebrate my 50th birthday. Singapore was celebrating its 50th birthday at the same time, so it was a double Golden Jubilee celebration! Lots of 50th anniversary events, fireworks, and freebies. Also, did a stopover in Bangkok and a trip to Malaysia, and bought cheap roundtrip tickets from Singapore to Bali to spend an additional week in Indonesia! Three-week vacation to 5 countries mostly using miles…

  13. My best travel memory this summer was when my husband and I used Hawaiian Airlines miles from Maui to Los Angeles to visit our son, and our daughter and her family. After one week stay in L.A. we flew to Newark using Southwest Airlines miles to visit my mother-in-law. ( This part of the trip had a little mishap, as just before calling an Uber @4 am to take us to LAX, I happened to check my email and noticed that our flight had been cancelled. No other flights either that day! Quick call to Southwest, and we were able to rebook a flight leaving from Burbank @5am). – From Newark a week later we used Southwest miles to fly to Oakland.
No relatives there, but we stayed at the Double Tree Hilton at Berkley Marina for $39/night for 5 nights! 🙂
From Oakland we used Alaska Airlines miles to fly back to Maui.

  14. My wife and 3 daughters went to visit my sisters in LA (from philly) using all points (98,123 total) and a companion pass!!

  21. In July, our family of four went to Washington DC. From the US Airways card, we flew my husband on points and both kids on the $99 companion ticket. For accommodations, we stayed at the Residence Inn for 10 nights thanks to the Ritz Carlton 140k points bonus.
