Which Banks Will Send You a New Credit Card Fast?

Sometimes folks want to get their new credit cards as quickly as possible.

A few reasons why:

  • Because they are traveling soon
  • To repair something
  • To take advantage of a limited-time deal
  • To use for work

Usually, a card takes 7 to 10 business days to arrive.  But some banks can get you the card a lot faster!

And remember, the time you have to meet minimum spending requirements does NOT start when you receive and activate your card.  It starts as soon as your new account is opened, usually the same day you’re approved.

  1. Great summary info – thanks. I knew about a couple of these, but it’s really nice to have the policies of all issuers in once nice reference.

  2. Just called AmEx to ask for expedited delivery — I called twice because I am so worried about getting the card in time for a large purchase (gotta meet those spend minimums)! Today is Thursday and I’d like the card no later than Tuesday next week — the rep keeps assuring me that I will have the card by then, but made no promises for an expedited delivery even after I explained my situation twice. The site promises 7-10 business days. Fingers crossed for me!

  3. Just a heads up… Discover DOES NOT mail all cards out express for free. New accounts are mailed in 5 -7 days due to regulations of information that needs to be mailed out to new accounts. On 5/21/16, I applied and was approved but cards for new accounts will take 5 – 7 days for delivery. I spoke with an agent to verify this (after the fact, unfortunately) and with a new account, there is NO WAY to expedite the process.

  4. Hi, I have fair credit need to apply for one that has next day delivery. Have any suggestions?
