This isn’t a good option for folks who are looking for a card to use outside of the US because it charges 3% in foreign transaction fees.

Note:   Thanks to reader Tomt for asking about application rules for this card!  Citi says:

This CitiBusiness AAdvantage Platinum Select card offer is not available to you if you already have a CitiBusiness AAdvantage card account.  Additionally, this offer is valid only for first time CitiBusiness AAdvantage Platinum Select cardmembers

  1. @MMS. What is the rule on reapply after you close any account? Is it still 18months

  2. With so many cards now offering 3x points for airfare purchases, I cannot understand why the cobranded cards won’t at least offer 3x miles for airfare purchases with their own airline.

  3. Slightly unrelated but a question about Citi/AAdvantage Platinum Select MasterCard. Is there a 50k offer for that card? I can find one on google, but when I go to Citi’s website I don’t see one.

  4. @Andy, Yeah just google “citi aadvantage platinum select 50000” and click the first link that comes up. Or if Darius has a referral link for that one, use his.

  5. Me and my spouse have 2 businesses. and have each had a Business AA with one business each. can we now switch and apply? Me with Business B and DH with Business A?

  6. Hey can i reapply for the business card to receive a second helping of the points or is it a one-time deal. the fine print seems to suggest it’s a one time deal. thanks.

  7. BTW trying to sign up for this in google chrome doesn’t work, had to use Firefox.

  8. Did they get rid of the annual 5% bonus on AA miles earned with this card? I can’t find it in fine print anywhere. That used to be one of the better rewards with this card since it included ALL AA miles earned except for bonuses. I applied for this card with a 50K offer last December and got the annual 5% bonus in January, so it was a yearly bonus, not an account anniversary bonus.

  9. I closed my AA Citi business card more than a year ago, can I reapply for this to get the bonus again?
