Update: The Citi Hilton Visa credit card offer in this post is no longer available, but check Hot Deals for the latest offers!
There are lots of beautiful Hilton hotels. I’ll share some of my favorites and give you tips for how to earn more Hilton points!
About the Citi Hilton Visa
For a limited time, you’ll get 75,000 Hilton points when you open the Citi Hilton Visa and spent $2,000 on purchases within the 1st 3 months of account opening. Read my review of the Citi Hilton Visa.
Along with 75,000 Hilton points, you’ll get:
- 6 Hilton points for every $1 you spend at Hilton hotels
- 3 Hilton points for every $1 you spend at supermarkets, drugstores, and gas stations
- 2 Hilton points for every $1 you spend on everything else
- NO annual fee
- Free Hilton Silver elite status (late check-out, 2 free bottles of water, and 15% points bonus on Hilton points earned)
- Free Hilton Gold elite status (free breakfast and internet) after staying 4 times at Hilton in the 1st 3 months or after spending $20,000 on purchases in a calendar year
- 10,000 Hilton points at the end of a calendar when you spend $1,000 or more at Hilton hotels
This is NOT a good card to use outside the US because of the 3% foreign transaction fee.
Note: Citi will only approve 1 credit card application per day, and no more than 2 every ~65 days. And you should wait at least ~8 days between applications.
10 Top Hilton Hotels!
But you’d get 6,000 points if you spent the $2,000 at supermarkets, drugstores, and gas stations (3X Hilton points per $1 you spend). And remember those places sell gift cards to other merchants like restaurants, movie theaters, department stores, and more!
Note: All prices are based on travel in August 2015. Hilton has seasonal award pricing that fluctuates based on the time of year.
I did NOT put the hotels in order of which are best. These are just my ideas for you! You can find Hilton hotels on your own with great tools such as HotelHustle, AwardMapper, and Hilton’s points search tool.
1. Conrad London St. James
Explore London with the Conrad London St. James as your base.
This Category 9 Hilton hotel is ~$495 a night. But it’s also available for 80,000 Hilton points.
See Buckingham Palace, the changing of the guard, and the Tower of London to start. London is a vibrant city filled with activities!
2. Waldorf Astoria in New York
It’s $313 per night, or 70,000 Hilton points.
This hotel is near New York’s Theater District, Fifth Avenue shops, and art museums. And Times Square is within walking distance if you want to see a show on Broadway while you stay in the Big Apple.
3. Hilton Paris Opera
The Hilton Paris Opera is a Category 9 hotel near the Champs-Elysées. Shopping, cafes, gorgeous architecture, and the romance of Paris are all around.
It’s ~$328 per night or 80,000 Hilton points.
Emily and I spent our honeymoon in Paris and had a romantic time seeing the sights.
4. Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa
The Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa is a Category 7 hotel on a private strip of beach. There are 7 separate pools, including 1 for the kids!
This hotel is ~$350 a night, or 60,000 Hilton points.
Guests rave about the beautiful sunsets at this hotel! Once you get there, you might not want to leave!
5. Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa
If you want to explore French Polynesia, plan a trip to the Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa. As a Category 9 hotel, it’s 80,000 Hilton points per night in August.
If you paid cash, it would cost ~$630 a night!
Emily and I stayed at this hotel during our 2nd honeymoon. It was a relaxing trip!
6. Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria
Each room is decorated with paintings and luxurious furniture. And there’s a lot to explore, including a spa and pool.
This hotel is ~$604 per night, or 80,000 Hilton points.
The hotel is surrounded by gardens, which make it a perfect place to escape to in the evenings.
7. Conrad Bali
The Conrad Bali is special because it’s deeply influenced by culture of the Balinese people.
It’s in an exotic location with many pools and dining options. A night typically costs ~$321 or 60,000 Hilton points. But Hilton currently has a special rate of 53,000 Hilton points for certain dates in August.
Known as the Island of the Gods, Bali is famous for its temples, traditional dancing, arts and crafts, and Hindu religious traditions.
8. Hilton Puerto Vallarta Resort
Rooms are ~$185 per night, or 50,000 Hilton points. The maximum occupancy is 4 guests (with up to 3 children or infants). So this can be a good deal!
The resort is on the beach and has many restaurants and bars throughout.
9. Conrad Tokyo
The Conrad Tokyo is perhaps the most well-known Conrad hotel.
It’s ~$342 per night, or 80,000 Hilton points.
Located in Tokyo Bay, you’ll be surrounded by shops, restaurants, and tons to explore.
10. Roosevelt New Orleans Waldorf Astoria
The Roosevelt New Orleans Waldorf Astoria is a charming historic hotel located steps from the (in)famous French Quarter.
This hotel is $229 a night in August or 50,000 Hilton points. Prices can go up or down a lot depending on the season, but you can get a good deal!
Get ready to step back in time, because most of the decorations are a throwback to the 1920s. There’s a restaurant, a bar, and a rooftop pool…in case you do decide to go in August!
Other Ways to Get Hilton Points
Link: Citi Prestige
Link: Citi ThankYou Premier
I’ve written about all the ways to earn Hilton points.
You’ll get 1,500 Hilton points for every 1,000 Citi ThankYou points. This can be a good way to top off your account if you’re close to an award stay!
While the Citi Hilton Reserve is my favorite Hilton card because of the 2 weekend night certificates, the Citi Hilton Visa is also a good choice because it has NO annual fee. (It’s possible to get both cards.)
Keeping no annual fee cards can boost your credit score by increasing the average age of your credit accounts.
And 75,000 Hilton points is the highest sign-up bonus ever on this card. I do NOT think it will get any higher!
Also remember it’s you can transfer Hilton points from 1 account to another for a fee. This can be useful if you want to combine points with your partner for an award stay.
How to Save Money With the Citi Hilton Visa Signature
All personal Citi credit cards have Citi Price Rewind, which can save you a lot of money!
Because this card is a Visa, it’s eligible for Visa Savings.
And through August 21, 2015, get a free movie ticket on Summer Fridays when you pay with your Visa Signature card!
For a limited time, the sign-up bonus on the Citi Hilton Visa is 75,000 Hilton points, which is the highest it’s ever been!
And remember there are lots of ways to earn Hilton points!
