Other Ways to Get Hilton Points

Link:   Citi ThankYou Premier

I’ve written about all the ways to earn Hilton points.

10 Top Hotels For Big Travel With The 75,000 Point Citi Hilton Visa

You Can Transfer Miles and Points From Other Programs to Hilton

Hilton is a transfer partner of Citi ThankYou points.  If you have the Citi Prestige or Citi ThankYou Premier card, you can transfer Citi ThankYou points directly to Hilton.

You’ll get 1,500 Hilton points for every 1,000 Citi ThankYou points.  This can be a good way to top off your account if you’re close to an award stay!

While the Citi Hilton Reserve is my favorite Hilton card because of the 2 weekend night certificates, the Citi Hilton Visa is also a good choice because it has NO annual fee.  (It’s possible to get both cards.)

Keeping no annual fee cards can boost your credit score by increasing the average age of your credit accounts.

And 75,000 Hilton points is the highest sign-up bonus ever on this card.  I do NOT think it will get any higher!

Also remember it’s you can transfer Hilton points from 1 account to another for a fee.  This can be useful if you want to combine points with your partner for an award stay.

How to Save Money With the Citi Hilton Visa Signature

All personal Citi credit cards have Citi Price Rewind, which can save you a lot of money!

Because this card is a Visa, it’s eligible for Visa Savings.

And through August 21, 2015get a free movie ticket on Summer Fridays when you pay with your Visa Signature card!

Bottom Line

For a limited time, the sign-up bonus on the Citi Hilton Visa is 75,000 Hilton points, which is the highest it’s ever been!

That’s enough points to splurge on amazing hotels such as the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and SpaConrad Tokyo, and, Hilton Paris Opera.

  1. Not quite impressed by the glam listing of Hilton’s where you blow ALL of your points earned on this card in one night. So let’s see now, ya go through all the work to get the promo, then get a reservation for one measly night in paradise…. How unsatisfying.

Part of the reason I’ve thus far avoided Hilton cards. (even though I’ve done a lot with points programs with Hyatt, IHG, Club Carlson, etc.)

Now, were I to travel soon to areas with the cheap Hilton properties (like Egypt), I might at last go for a card like this…. but would rather go for one that gives me better status AND a ton of points. (waiving annual fees good too) But I see you and others suggest considering multiple Hilton cards…. And with the continuing deterioration of IHG, I might just try it. Always learning — testing.

  2. The number 1 hotel you list, Conrad London St. James, only shows availability at the premium rate of 321,000 points per night, every night for the next year forward when I search for a room. I am a diamond member of HHonors and find that often to be the case when I am looking for Hilton hotels in Europe. Point stays are either not available, or available at a the ridiculous “premium” rate. Am I doing something wrong with my searching or is it really not fair to say you can use 80,000 points to stay at these famous hotels?

  3. Never mind my previous question, I experimented and found that my problem was that I was searching for 2 adults and 1 child, which many of the hotels in Europe (Conrad London St. James included) can only accommodate in a suite like room. Hence the reason why I was only being showed redemption options of 321,000 per night instead of the 80,000 you discuss in the article. My bad.

  4. Add the new Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem to the mix! Over $600/night and one of the very few chain hotels in the Holy City.

  5. Hey, Darius, any chance of getting this card if you already have the Citi Hilton Reserve?

  6. @ Andrea – You can have both cards. He does say that in his post. You can generally get 2 citi cards every 60 days. If you are churning these cards, you need to read to see if they only allow every 18 months.

  7. I have not seen any availability up to a year with Hilton Bora Bora and a few others in the list (even the Hilton in Zion National Park). It always say that ‘this hotel has limited availability’. Does everyone has the same experience?

  8. Darius, have an airline card SWA looking for a hotel card it looks like citi Hilton visa, citiHH Reserve, or Hyat might be my best options.? Any thoughts
