I wrote about a better offer for the Bank of America Alaska airlines card last month.  And now, via View From the Wing, there’s a new working link!

You’ll earn 25,000 Alaska Airlines miles when your account is approved.  And a $100 statement credit after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the 1st 3 months of opening your account.

That more than makes up for the $75 annual fee, which is NOT waived for the 1st year.

It’s Back! Earn 25,000 Alaska Airlines Miles Plus a $100 Statement Credit With the Bank of America Alaska Airlines Card

Emily and I don’t earn a commission from this card, but we’ll always tell you about the best offers!

This offer has come around in the past, and sometimes you’d have to make a test booking to see the deal.  But this is a direct link!

Normally, you’ll earn 25,000 Alaska Airlines miles when your account is approved (no minimum spending requirement).

You’ll Earn 25,000 Alaska Airlines Miles When Your Account Is Approved – Just in Time for an Alaskan Summer Vacation!

With this better offer, you’ll earn the 25,000 Alaska Airlines miles upon approval, plus$100 statement credit after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the 1st 3 months of opening your account.

Note:   Bank of America says you’ll earn the $100 statement credit if you’re a new customer only.  So you won’t get it if you’ve had the card before.

After you pay the $75 annual fee (NOT waived the 1st year), you’ll still be $25 ahead!

You’ll also get:

  • 3 Alaska Airlines miles per $1 you spend on Alaska Airlines
  • 1 Alaska Airlines mile per $1 you spend on everything else
  • A coach Companion Fare certificate each year (your companion travels with you on a paid ticket for $99 plus tax)

Note:  This isn’t a good card to use overseas, because it adds a 3% foreign transaction fee.

What Can You Do With 25,000 Alaska Airlines Miles?

Alaska Airlines miles are flexible because you can use them on Alaska Airlines and their partner airlines, which include American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Delta, and Emirates.

Check out my post on the best ways to use Alaska Airlines miles.

Use Alaska Airlines Miles to Spoil Yourself in First Class on Emirates

25,000 Alaska Airlines miles is enough for a round-trip coach ticket within the US and Canada (excluding Hawaii) on Alaska Airlines or 1 of their partner airlines.

But I’d rather save my Alaska Airlines miles for expensive Business Class and First Class tickets on airlines like Cathay Pacific and Emirates!

Bottom Line

The better offer for the Bank of America Alaska Airlines card has returned.

You’ll earn 25,000 Alaska Airlines miles on account approval AND a $100 statement credit after meeting minimum spending requirements!  The statement credit more than makes up for the $75 annual fee.

We don’t earn a commission for this offer, but Emily and I will always tell you about the best deals!

  1. It would be helpful if you included the churning rules for this card in the post itself.

    Thanks.

  2. Many are not happy with the bad advice you gave, now you want to make them unhappy?

  3. Sam what bad advice?

  4. Seriously! At the very least include the new rules that you help usher in!

  5. Is the 50K offer coming this year? When is it last time offered?

  6. What am I missing with all the hostility? Is this not as good of a deal as it seems?

  7. I must be missing the thread that addresses the bad advice and new rules. Would someone mind taking the time to give me the overview? I was thinking to apply for this card and now sure if the advice/rules relate to this particular deal. Thanks for your help.

We used to be able to get 2 of these cards every 90 days. But on May 13, he posted that he got 5 AA cards in 1 day. People took that as a challenge and commenters took it as a challenge to get as many cards as possible. One person claimed to get 14 cards. Now BoA only allows 1 card per person. It’s not MMS’s fault people went crazy, but many people are upset with that post

  9. Thanks for the info thisisbeeltejuice. That is a shame.
