Here’s a list of the Fandango movie theaters in the US.  These include many AMC and Regal theaters.

To get the complimentary ticket, add 2 movie tickets to your cart.  When you check-out on a Friday with your Visa Signature card, the lowest-priced ticket (up to $19.50) won’t be charged.

This deal is valid for any Friday showing.

The free tickets are 1st-come, 1st-served.  So you may consider using a Chase Visa Signature card (such as the British Airways card).  That’s because with a Chase Visa Signature card, you can purchase as early as Wednesday for Friday showings.

Other Discounts at the Movies

You can save money at movie theaters any day of the week buying gift cards at office supply stores with a credit card that earn bonus points.  For example, Staples sells gift cards to AMC Theaters, Fandango, and Regal Cinemas.

You can use your Chase Ink Plus, Ink Bold (no longer available), or Ink Cash card to earn 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points (or 5% cash back).  And AMEX SimplyCash earns 5% back at US office supply stores.

You Can Always Earn Points or Cash Back When You Buy a Movie Theater Gift Card at an Office Supply Store or Supermarket With a Credit Card That Earns a Category Bonus

You can also purchase movie theater gift cards in a supermarket with a card that earns bonus points.  For instance, the Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express and Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express earn extra points at the supermarket.

If you find gift cards to be a hassle, you can use your Citi Prestige or Citi ThankYou Premier cards to earn 2X Citi ThankYou points at movie theaters.

Bottom Line

Look through your cards to see if you have a Visa Signature card.  (It will say “Signature” below the Visa logo.)  Because each Friday through August 21, 2015, you’re eligible for a free movie ticket when you buy 1 from Fandango.
