This offer expires May 15, 2015, (tomorrow).

This is a targeted offer, but folks who aren’t targeted have still been able to sign-up!   But this deal may not be for everyone.

How to Earn 150,000 AMEX Membership Rewards Points

There’s a targeted offer for the Business Platinum Card from American Express OPEN where you can earn up to 150,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points.

Other perks include:

  • $200 in statement credits per calendar year for airline incidentals (luggage fees, lounge day passes, etc)
  • Access to airport lounges (Delta, Priority Pass, Airspace, and American Express Centurion Lounges)
  • Statement credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck
  • Terms and conditions apply

There’s a $450 annual fee that’s NOT waived.  But the $200 statement credit makes the annual fee effectively $250.  The airline credit is per calendar year so you can use it in 2015 and again in 2016 before your annual fee is due.

Although this deal is targeted, some folks have still been able to sign-up.  But there are no guarantees.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1 – Call AMEX With the Offer Code

To sign-up, call American Express at 877-628-6736 and mention offer code “L081-994-816-5743”.

What Can You Do With 150,000 AMEX Membership Rewards Points?

American Express Membership Rewards points are worth 1 cent each when you purchase airfare using “Pay With Points.”  So 150,000 points can be redeemed for $1,500 in flights!

With this option you don’t have to worry about finding available award seats and you’ll also earn miles on your trip.

However, you’ll get much more value by transferring your points to airline and hotel partners.

For example, you can transfer 150,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points to British Airways at a 1:1 ratio.  And 150,000 British Airways Avios points are worth 6 round-trip coach flights from the West Coast to Hawaii on Alaska Airlines!

You can apply by calling AMEX at 877-628-6736 and mentioning offer code “L081-994-816-5743”.

  1. If we already have this card are we able to take advantage of this offer, either through applying for a new card or seeing if they will match the offer on my current Platinum Business Card?

  2. I just recently got the standard 40k for $5k spend because I was impatient and wanted Centurion Lounge access. Any chance AMEX would bump the bonus to 150k for additional $15k spend?

  3. Approved! 🙂 thank you for letting us know.

  4. I have never managed to get Amex to match an offer that required a different amount of spend than the offer I applied for.

  5. I just received 75k Gold business card. How do I take advantage of this offer. Can I get this bonus if I get an approval for platinum card. Also how many days should be in between these 2 applications.

  6. Disgusting. There are done deal you just don’t post. Especially with a stolen code.

  7. Any chance of a quick refresher on rules if you’ve had the card before? Is it 24 months from last having the card? Bonus posting? Pervious opening date?

  8. just called, they said the offer # was already used and could not be re-used

  9. That’s a lie Kim. Multiple people have used this same code.

  10. Got it! Thanks for sharing the day before the deadline (allows us not-in-the-know to take advantage without ruining the deal for others)! I spent 15 minutes on hold before talking to an agent, and he knew which card I wanted before I even told him. He seemed happy to help, and I was approved on the spot. I suspect that American Express is happy to have so many customers willing to pay a $450 annual fee.

  11. Thanks! Does the $200 airline credit work for purchasing United miles?

  12. code not valid. 9:30pm EST 5/14

  13. I called AmEx 3 times and they are not honoring the code. Anyone face the same problem? is that a way to work around to still able to get this offer?

  14. Dead! What is the difference posting today and posting when the offer came out? Still pulled too fast! Cannot understand why Amex doesn’t just offer this to everyone…. Is my $450 and $20000 spending in 3 months worth any less than the next guy’s? So unfair!

  15. I called. .They said offer no longer available i guess it was posted to so many sites that they took it off..oh well

  16. Currently on the phone with AMEX CSR, offer is alive for me, I’m in!
    11:10AM, May 15, 2015

  17. ditto.
    The 100k was off too.
They only offered me a 75k MR gold, which I already have.

  18. awesome, got the offer and approved 11:35AM, May 15, 2015

  19. tried the phone number, was told the offer is off… missed it… dammm.

  21. I was on the phone for an hour and then when I finally reached the person they said not available……

  22. The article “40 plus ways to meet spending requirements” is it fully up to date since I thought the Amazon payments item was no longer available?

  23. I was approved just before this offer died. I’m really looking forward to the 150K MR points!

  24. How to spend so much in 3 months to fulfill the offer? Amazon/Serve are Dead, and the Target REDCard is Dead too. Can You folks/site moderator give ideas of How to spend a WHOPPING 20K in 3 months? Or even $5000 in 3 months using ‘Free Services” Like Amazon/Serve/Venmo which have closed?

  25. I just gave them this code and score 100K for 10K spend in 3 months. Nothing further.
