Link: Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve Card
Normally, the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card gets you 2 weekend nights (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) at almost any Hilton after you spend $2,500 in the 1st 4 months of opening your account.
But for a limited time, you’ll also get a $100 statement credit when you spend $100 or more on your 1st stay at a Hilton hotel within the 1st 3 months of opening your account. That more than makes up for the $95 annual fee!
Note: If you’ve opened or closed a Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card in the past 18 months, you won’t get the 2 weekend night sign-up bonus or statement credit.
Remember, you’ll also get Gold Elite status with this card, which can save you money with free breakfast!
5 Amazing Hilton Beach Hotels in the US Where You Can Stay With Your Certificates
Now here are 5 more terrific spots for a beach vacation!
1. Destin, Florida: Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa
The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa is located in the Florida Panhandle on the Gulf of Mexico and sits on a 1-mile long white sand beach. It was renovated in 2014 and includes 3 pools and 2 whirlpools, several restaurants, and the Serenity by the Sea spa.
There are 4 golf courses nearby, and lots of water activities to choose from, including sailing, fishing, and jet skiing.
A Hilton category 8 hotel, the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa costs $379 per night or 50,000 Hilton points in March (perfect for a Spring Break trip!). The average temperature is ~70 degrees so it’s perfect for golfing and outdoor activities! But keep in mind that it’s slightly cooler (but still pleasant) if you travel in December, January, or February.
By using your weekend night certificates, you could get a stay worth $758! That’s a great value!
2. Key West, Florida: Casa Marina, a Waldorf Astoria Resort
Emily and I had a wonderful time in Key West when we took a mini-vacation there in 2013. Although we stayed at the Hyatt Key West, the Casa Marina, a Waldorf Astoria Resort is another excellent choice!
If you’re into nightlife, Key West has great shopping, restaurants, and bar options on Duval Street not far from the hotel. Including 1 of Ernest Hemingway’s old haunts, Sloppy Joes, and a clothing optional bar, the Garden of Eden. (Emily and I visited but didn’t “participate.”) 😉
So by using your 2 Hilton weekend night certificates, you could get a stay worth $778!
Note: While Key West typically has a warm climate all year, be mindful of hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30.
3. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort
Myrtle Beach might not the best choice if you’re looking for a quiet vacation because it’s packed with hotels (and people!), especially during Spring Break. But if you’re looking for lots of fun and action, the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort is a good pick!
Keep in mind Myrtle Beach can be quite cool in the winter months, so if you’re looking for tropical temperatures you’ll want to stay in the spring, summer, or fall. But there are still plenty of attractions to enjoy even in the cooler weather.
The Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort is a Hilton category 6 hotel. A night in April costs $219, or 40,000 Hilton points.
If you used your 2 Hilton weekend night certificates here, you could get a stay worth $438.
4. Ocean City, Maryland: Hilton Ocean City Oceanfront Suites
If you’re looking for a summer trip, the Hilton Ocean City Oceanfront Suites is a perfect place for families or a group of friends. That’s because a standard room here is a 1-bedroom oceanfront suite with 2 queen beds, living room, full kitchen, and whirlpool tub!
Standard rooms aren’t usually so fancy! Because you can only book standard rooms with your Hilton 2 weekend night certificates, this is an excellent deal!
There are waterslides in the hotel pool for the kids and lots of nearby attractions, including a boardwalk, water sports, shopping, and restaurants.
This is a Hilton category 9 hotel, and costs 80,000 Hilton points per night during peak season. Or you could pay a whopping $539 per night!
Using your 2 weekend night certificates at this hotel, you could get a stay valued at $1,078! That’s a fantastic use of your certificates!
5. San Diego, California: Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa
The hotel itself has several restaurants, but I’d probably venture off the beaten path and find an independent local restaurant serving authentic cuisine! And naturally I’ll be sure to earn at least 2X points for my meal. 🙂
The weather in San Diego is mild for most of the year (although slightly cooler in the winter months). A good time to visit might be from December to April (whale watching season!).
It normally costs 50,000 Hilton points per night at this Hilton category 8 hotel. Or you could pay $239!
So you’ll get a stay worth $478 by using your 2 Hilton weekend night certificates at this resort.
How Do You Use the Hilton Weekend Night Certificates?
You’ll earn the 2 weekend night certificates after you spend $2,500 in the 1st 4 months of opening your Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve account.
Hilton will email your certificates within 6 to 8 weeks of meeting the minimum spending requirement. But to book a room, you have to call Hilton at 800-446-6677.
There are a few other details to keep in mind:
- The certificates are valid for 12 months from the date they’re issued
- They can only be used for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night stays
- Only the primary cardholder can use the certificates
- The room rate and taxes are included, but gratuities, incidental charges, and resort fees are NOT (although some folks report certain hotels will waive the resort fee!)
- You can only book a standard room (not a premium room or suite) with these certificates
If you accidentally delete the email (or don’t receive it), don’t worry – the certificates should still show up in your Hilton account when you call them!
Note: With the limited-time promotion for the $100 statement credit, you must spend at least $100 on your 1st Hilton stay within 3 months of opening your account.
If you’re looking to escape to the beach, there are great Hilton hotels in the US! And you could get a great deal from using your 2 Hilton weekend night certificates from the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve Card .
Hotels in California, Florida, and Maryland are all excellent choices! But there are many others that might appeal to you, depending on your travel style!
