To find hotels that can be booked with points, I like using Hotel Hustle (which even shows you if rooms are actually available!) or AwardMapper.

Remember, you can transfer flexible points like Chase Ultimate Rewards or American Express Membership Rewards to different hotel programs.

  1. Looks like Delta is fare matching. Found lots of November dates for $346/$350 from CLT to LIR. None on United

  2. During their cats and dogs rainy season, where it is measured in FEET not inches….no thanks

  3. There is flights for $224 round trip to Dominican Republic from NYC area May-June! usually is high 400’s

  4. Hah hah – that photo is NOT of anyplace mentioned in your post. Beaches in Costa Rica do not look like that! You continue to hand out “expert advice” on places you’ve never been…

    This website really appeals to the lowest-common-denominator. Next international travel tip: be sure to lock the door when you leave your house for your vacation – thieves might enter and steal your belongings!

  5. We just returned from a 9 day trip to Costa Rica and loved it. It is a beautiful country and beautiful people. Granted we were in the dry season but am looking forward to returning one day.
