What’s the AMEX Hilton Honors Surpass?
Link: American Express Hilton Honors
You can earn 80,000 Hilton points with the AMEX Hilton Honors Surpass card through May 5, 2015. To get the bonus, spend $3,000 on purchases within the 1st 3 months of opening your account.
You’ll also get:
- Free Hilton Gold elite status (free breakfast and internet)
- Free Hilton Diamond status when you spend more than $40,000 in a calendar year (better upgrades)
- 12 points for every $1 you spend at Hilton hotels
- 6 points per $1 you spend at US restaurants, US supermarkets & US gas stations
- 3 points per $1 you spend on most everything else
- Terms and limitations apply
The $75 annual fee is NOT waived.
This is a great card for folks who have a lot of paid Hilton stays. That’s because you’ll earn the most points per dollar spent at Hilton with the AMEX Hilton HHonors Surpass card.
I also like this card because it comes with Hilton Gold status, which includes free breakfast. So this can save you at ~$20 to ~$30 per day!
Is This a Good Deal?
While 80,000 Hilton points may seem like a lot, Hilton award stays also cost a lot of points. So those points may not get you as far as you might think!
That’s because 80,000 Hilton points is only enough for 1 night at top-tier hotel.
However, you can make your points last longer with budget-friendly hotels like Hampton Inn and Hilton Garden Inn.
That said, my favorite Hilton card is still the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card. That’s because you’ll earn 2 free weekend nights at (almost) any Hilton after you spend $2,500 in purchases in the 1st 4 months.
Plus, you’ll earn another free weekend night when you spend over $10,000 on the card in a calendar year.
The annual fee is higher at $95, but in my opinion it’s well worth it!
The highest sign-up bonus ever for the AMEX Hilton Honors Surpass card is back! You can earn 80,000 Hilton points when you spend $3,000 on purchases within the 1st 3 months of opening an account.
Sign-up by May 5, 2015, to apply for this offer. We don’t earn a commission on this card, but we always tell you about the best deals!
I still prefer the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card. But the AMEX Hilton Honors Surpass card may be a good option for folks who have a lot of paid Hilton stays.
