Emily and I don’t earn a commission for this card but because of the mother-in-law rule I always tell you about the best offers!

You’ll earn 60,000 Hilton points when you spend $1,000 in purchases with the Citi Hilton card within the 1st 4 months of opening your account.

The normal sign-up bonus is 40,000 Hilton points.  So with this offer you’re getting an additional 20,000 Hilton points.

With the Citi Hilton HHonors card you get:

  • 6 points for every $1 you spend at Hilton hotels
  • 3 points for every $1 you spend at supermarkets, drug stores, and gas stations
  • 2 points for every $1 you spend on everything else
  • Free Hilton Silver elite status (late check-out, 2 free bottles of water, and 15% points bonus on Hilton points earned)
  • Free Hilton Gold elite status (free breakfast and internet) after staying 4 times at Hilton in the 1st 3 months or after spending $20,000 in a calendar year
  • 10,000 Hilton points at the end of a calendar when you spend $1,000 or more at Hilton hotels

And there is NO annual fee.  But don’t use the card overseas, because it adds a 3% foreign transaction fee!

Note:   Starting August 2015, all guests will get free Wi-Fi at Hilton hotels (as long as they book their stay directly through Hilton).

Folks like this card because you can earn the sign-up bonus again.  But you can’t get the bonus if you’ve opened or closed the same card in the past 18 months.  The terms and conditions on the offer say:

Hilton HHonors Bonus Points offer is not available if you have had a Citi® Hilton HHonorsTM Visa Signature® Card account that was opened or closed in the past 18 months

However, this isn’t my favorite Hilton card!

This Isn’t the Best Hilton Card

Although you can earn lots of Hilton points from the Citi Hilton HHonors sign-up bonus, my favorite Hilton card is the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card.

That’s because you get Hilton Gold elite status (free breakfast and internet) and 2 free weekend nights at almost any Hilton when you complete the minimum spending requirements.

And you get 1 free weekend night certificate after spending $10,000 per cardmember year (starting from your annual fee date) that can be used at any Hilton hotel worldwide like the Hilton Bentley Miami / South Beach.

Better Offer For Citi Hilton HHonors Card 60,000 Hilton Points

1 Free Weekend Night at any Hilton Like the Hilton Bentley Miami/South Beach When You Spend $10,000 a Year

While you have to spend $20,000 in a calendar year (or stay at Hilton 4 times in the 1st 3 months) to get Gold status with the Citi Hilton HHonors card!  And there are better cards for Big Spenders!

So I’d rather pay the $95 annual fee on the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve and get free Gold status.  Plus, it doesn’t add foreign transaction fees.

And if you spend a lot of money at Hiltonyou can earn more Hilton points from other cards.

But if you don’t want to pay an annual fee, this card could be worth it for an easy 60,000 Hilton points.

Or if you’ll spend $1,000 at Hilton hotels in a year.  Because you’d earn 10,000 Hilton points which gets you 2 free nights in a Category 1 Hilton hotel.

Bottom Line

You can earn a 60,000 Hilton point sign-up bonus on the Citi Hilton HHonors card.

With this card you get free Hilton Silver status and 10,000 Hilton points (at the end of the calendar year) after spending $1,000 at Hilton hotels.

Folks like this card because it has no annual fee and you can earn the sign-up bonus again.

But if you don’t mind paying an annual fee, the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve card is a better deal.  You get free Hilton Gold status and 2 free weekend nights at almost any Hilton.  And you get 1 free weekend night certificate when you spend $10,000 in a cardmember year.

Emily and I don’t earn a commission on the Citi Hilton HHonors card but I always post about the best deals!

  1. Links not working!

  2. I have had this card for many years, mainly because there is no annual fee. Will Citi allow me to have a second one, or would I need to cancel the current one? I know that cancelling a card that has a long history is not good for the credit score, so hopefully I would not need to do that.

  3. @Richard H

… I have 7 of these cards. No pb

  4. I recently got HHonor card from american express. Will be eligible for citi H honors??

  5. I only have 2 so I’m going to try for another. Thx for the info Serge

  6. In order to get the bonus again— must you cancel the original card?

According to Serge O (above) who has 7 of the cards, but the question remains: did you get the sign up offer for each of those cards?

  7. Says offer not good if you’ve had a citi hilton card opened or closed in last 18 months. I believe they are adding this new language to many of their links.

  8. I take it you can’t have both the Citi Hilton HHonors Card and the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve Card?

  9. No problem having both, TJ.

  10. @Naveen – Yes you can have both – they’re 2 different cards issued by 2 different banks.

  11. Ok, I think the confusion is: Can you get both versions of the Citi card. The one with AF (60k points) AND the one with $75 AF (2 nights).

    Thanks to anyone who answers!

  12. I’ve held both citi hilton and citi reserve cards at same time in past year.

  13. I opened a Citi Hilton reserve a few months ago. Can I open this one and still get the bonus?

  14. @Dale – Yes, you can do 2 citi applications every 2 months. Those cards are different, so you should get the bonus for both.

  15. I’m reading contradictory intel here….someone says 18 months between apps, another person says you can have multiple apps of this card. What’s the deal?

  16. Please refer to flyertalk – just google – flyertalk citi credit cards – it will explain everything! I find that this game involves lots of time and reading! Flyertalk is an excellent source.

  17. Citi Reserve annual fee is $95
