Is This a Good Deal?

Diamond Resorts is a timeshare company. I wrote about this deal last year and thought it was a bad deal.  That’s because I thought folks had to attend a timeshare sales presentation.

However, Million Mile Secrets readers said it is good deal and you do NOT have to attend a sales pitch.  Although, it can be hard to book.

You should check the price of the resort you’re interested before you buy the package.  Because it might not be a good deal for you!

For example, 5 nights at the Grande Villa Resorts with the Daily Getaways package will cost $525 (excluding service charges of $6 per day) or $555.

A 5-Night Stay at the Grande Villa Resorts Costs $525 Through Daily Getaways

But booking through Hotels.com you’d only pay ~$531 (including the $6 per day service charge) – a $24 savings!

You Pay Less Booking 5 Nights at the Grande Villa Resorts Than Buying the Daily Getaway Deal

However, 5 nights at the Cabo Azul Resort booked through Orbitz costs ~$2,497 (excluding a $75 resort fee).  So you’d save ~$1,972 with the Daily Getaway deal.

Buying the Diamond Resort Daily Getaway Deal Saves You ~$1,972!

So you should check rates before you buy because you might not save money.

Bottom Line

At 1:00 pm Eastern Time, you can buy a 5 night consecutive stay at 1 of 68 Diamond Resorts like Ka’anapali Beach Club in Maui for $525.

You do NOT have to sit through a timeshare pitch, but there are a lot of restrictions and they can change your accommodations from a resort to a motel!

Be sure to check prices at the Diamond resort you want to stay at before buying the package to see if it’s a good deal for you.

  1. Yes, there is no time share presentation requirement. I bought the deal last year, and used at Maui early this month. They did offer me to attend the presentation for $100 credit, but I declined. They even waived my resort fee, and no parking fee. Paying 500+ for 5 night is a steal for $300+/night hotel is a great price.

  2. I purchased one today so I’m hoping it works out well. I’ll try redeeming in Maui later this year for a family staycation. That way I can save up my Hyatt points, although both the Andaz and Hyatt Regency Maui are awesome. At about $300+/night, I agree with James that this is a good deal if you can redeem it.

  3. I bought also with the intent of going to Kaanapali. Its a great location right on the beach.

  4. I bought this getaway and was a little apprehensive about the blackout dates. I was able to book the Maui resort over the labor day weekend without any issues. I was told that the blackout dates are usually around Christmas and new year when I called the general reservations number before my purchase, but they were not sure about it.
