What If You’re Not in New York?

You can get to New York cheaply by using points (like British Airways Avios) to get there.  British Airways Avios are great for short-haul flights because it’s only 4,500 points 1-way for flights less than 649 miles, and 7,500 points for flights up to 1,149 miles.

Or if you have the Southwest Companion Pass, you could fly to New York very cheaply.  That’s because with the Companion Pass, your companion flies with you for almost free on both paid and award tickets.

Or you could try to find a cheap paid ticket from your home airport to New York.  But do the math to see if it’s worth it.

  1. I am “folks.”

  2. I just got momentarily really bummed out that I missed this, but then immediately realized I don’t necessarily wanna be flying in Ukrainian airspace right now!
