1. Virgin America Fare Sale (Ends Today!)
Virgin America is back with another sale! So, if you missed out on their last sale, you may still be able to get a good deal!
You can book select 1-way coach flights starting at $39 through March 4, 2015, (today!) at 11:59 pm Central Time. According to the terms this sale is for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday only, but I found sale fares on other days of the week too!
To get the sale prices, book 14 or 21 days (depending on the route) in advance. Check the terms & conditions for more details.
Here’s a look at some of 1-way coach sale fares:
- Dallas to Austin –$39
- Las Vegas to San Francisco – $39 (the sale page says $59 but I found $39 fares!)
- Dallas to Washington, DC (DCA) – $59
Blackout dates include:
- March 26, 2015, to March 29, 2015
- April 3, 2015, to April 6, 2015
- May 22, 2015
- May 25, 2015
2. Frontier Airlines Sale $49
You can also save on 1-way flights with Frontier Airlines. Prices start at $49. Book by March 5, 2015, (tomorrow!), at 11:59 pm Eastern Time.
Sale fares are for travel from April 14, 2015, to May 20, 2015. The terms say this sale is for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. But I found other days included as well!
There are a few good deals such as:
- Austin to Denver – $49
- Chicago to Philadelphia – $49
- Washington, DC, to Atlanta – $49
And remember to check out their spring sale with 1-way flights from 44 cities starting at $39!
However, Frontier charges fees on everything from seat selections to carry-on bags! So this may only be a good deal for folks who can pack light.
3. $54 for Every 2nd Night at Buena Vista Suites (Near Disney World!)
According to Trip Advisor, this is a 3.5 star hotel with a 4 out of 5 rating.
To get the discount, book by March 12, 2015, for stays from August 1, 2015, to November 18, 2015.
Unfortunately, Labor Day Weekend (September 4, 2015, to September 6, 2015) is excluded.
Call 800-537-7737 to book and give rate code “MSV”.
It’s best to call during office hours, Monday to Friday (8:00 am to 10:00 pm Eastern Time) and Saturday and Sunday (9:00 am to 5:00 pm).
Stay in a Queen Suite for just $92 or $99 (depending on when you stay) per night and $54 for every 2nd night! Free breakfast is included!
Or you could use points you earn from credit card sign-up bonuses to stay near Disney World for free! Remember, you can use Hotel Hustle or AwardMapper to find hotels that accept points near destinations like Disney World.
4. Earn a Ton of Points Club Carlson Hotels! (Targeted)
One Mile at a Time writes that some folks can earn 3X base points at Club Carlson hotels through March 31, 2015. You don’t have to register for this promotion, but this is for targeted Club Carlson members only.
Normally you’d earn 20 points per dollar spent at Club Carlson hotels, but with this promotion you’ll earn 60 Club Carlson base points per dollar.
Plus, if you’re a US Bank Club Carlson cardholder, you get another 10X points per dollar spent. So you’ll earn at total of 70X Club Carlson points per dollar spent.
Additionally, US Bank Club Carlson cardholders get free Gold status which gives you a 35% point bonus (an extra 7 points per $1)! So you’ll earn a total of 77 Club Carlson points per dollar spent (60X base points + 10X points for Club Carlson cardholders + 7 points for Gold status)!
But it doesn’t stop there! You can also stack this deal to get another 30,000 Club Carlson points when you stay 3 nights or more (or 15,000 points for 2 nights).
And remember, if you have the US Bank Club Carlson card, you get your last night free on award stays of 2 nights or more.
5. Costco Accepting Visa Cards Next Year!
I’ve written that Costco ended its agreement with American Express. And now Costco has found a new home with Citibank and Visa. A new Costco Citi Visa card will be available at some point, but there are no details available yet.
More importantly, starting April 1, 2016, AMEX cards will no longer be accepted and you will be able to check-out at Costco with any Visa card to get miles & points!
