Other Changes

On January 1, 2015, Hyatt discontinued the My Elite Rate program which gave Hyatt Platinum and Diamond elite status holders a 20% discount off the Best Available rate.

And you will NOT get bonus points if you don’t get your confirmed bed type.

Bottom Line

You have 1 week to book your 2015 Hyatt stays at the old award chart rates before the award chart changes on January 22, 2015.

So if you’re booking 1 of the 22 hotels that will cost more, you should book by January 21, 2015.

Folks who booked 1 of the 48 hotels that are going down a category will get a refund of the point difference.

And you can no longer book a My Elite Rate or get points for a guaranteed bed type.

But you can still book award nights with Points + Cash.

  1. just wanted to give feedback. I just booked 4 nights at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek 2/10- 2/14 free! $4700 value. Used 2 free nights from hyatt card and had 60000 points (from transfer of chase ultimate rewards). Also booked free Airfare to vail for family of 6 people! One way to vail (delta) and one back (AA) ($2986 value). Had tons of miles with Delta from paying taxes with SunTrust DSM debit card and received the 100K mile bonus last summer from AAdvantage MC offer. Also plan on using AAdvantage for SUV rental (1000miles +350$ vs. >1000$ on kayak, orbits, hotwire) Thanks for all of your tips……. will make this ski trip much more enjoyable…..
