With the new “Extend Your Stay, Earn 30K” promotion, you can earn a free night (or more!) at a Club Carlson hotel just from 1 paid stay.  And there’s no limit to the number of free nights you can get!

You can earn 15,000 bonus points for 2-night stays.  And 30,000 points for stays of 3 nights or more.

That’s enough for a free night at the Park Inn in Prague.  Or use your points for a complimentary 1-night stay at the Radisson Salt Lake City Downtown.

You have to register online to receive the bonus points.  The deal is valid for stays between January 12, 2015, and March 29, 2015.

With this promotion, you’ll earn 15,000 bonus points for 2-night stays, and 30,000 bonus points for stays of 3 nights or more at participating Club Carlson hotels.

Club Carlson includes Country Inns and SuitesRadissonRadisson BluPark Inn by Radisson, Park Plaza, and Quorvus Collection hotels.

Once you’ve registered, you’ll earn bonus points for eligible stays between January 12, 2015, and March 29, 2015.  There’s no limit to the number of bonus points you can earn.

Check your email, because some Club Carlson members were targeted for an extra 10,000 points if they register for the promotion before January 12, 2015.

Note:   Only paid stays earn bonus points.  Award nights or Points + Cash bookings are NOT eligible for the promotion.  And nights booked through online travel agencies like Orbitz or Hotwire do NOT qualify either.

Is This a Good Deal?

Yes, if you’re booking stays of 2 nights or more.  Folks booking single nights will do better with the Marriott Megabonus promotion (which doesn’t require multi-night stays), but that promotion doesn’t start until February.

And there are lots of reasonably priced Club Carlson hotels.  So you could earn LOTS of bonus points for relatively cheap stays.  It doesn’t matter how much you spend, only how long you stay!

For a 2-night stay, you’ll earn 15,000 bonus points, which is enough for a night at a Category 1 (9,000 points per night) or Category 2 (15,000 points per night) Club Carlson hotel.

If you got in on the ultra-low Delta fare deal to Russia, you could use 15,000 Club Carlson points for a night at the Park Inn by Radisson Pribaltiyskaya Hotel.

And on stays of 3 nights or more, you’ll earn 30,000 points – enough for a night at a Category 3 hotel (28,000 points per night), like the Country Inns & Suites Orlando Universal.

Folks who have the Club Carlson Premier Rewards card will do even better with this promotion.  That’s because they get their last night free on award stays of 2 nights or more.

So if you have the card, the bonus points you earn are essentially worth double, as long as you use the points to book 2-night award stays.  It’s like getting 2 award nights for the price of one.

That said, some folks might do better with the IHG Set Your Sights promotion (as long as their list of tasks isn’t too long!).

And remember, there’s a Starwood Double Play promotion, too.  But you’ll earn points based on the room rate (so folks who like to book cheaper rooms won’t earn nearly as many bonus points).

I’ll definitely consider switching some paid stays to Club Carlson for this deal if I’m able to find an inexpensive hotel.  That’s because you’ll earn the same number of bonus points whether you book a $60 per night room or a $400 per night room!

As always, do the math and see what works best for your travel plans.

Note:   Check your email!  Some folks are reporting a targeted offer for an extra 10,000 points if you register for the promotion by January 12, 2015.

Bottom Line

Club Carlson’s Extend Your Stay, Earn 30K promotion is a great deal for folks who have stays of 2 or more nights planned between January 12, 2015, and March 29, 2015.

You’ll earn 15,000 points for 2-night stays, and 30,000 points for stays of more than 3 nights.  Check your email for a targeted early registration offer (you could get another 10,000 points!).  There’s no limit to the number of points you can earn.

Folks who have the Club Carlson Premier Rewards card will do very well with this deal.  Because they get the last night free on stays of 2 nights or more.

What do you think of the Club Carlson promotion?  How do you think it compares to the other hotel chains?

  1. Just booked 2x nights at a Radisson for March last week – perfect timing!

  2. Have seen no mention if OK to use prepaid rates direct from Radisson? I assume that this would count.

  3. If I used my companies corporate rate would that disqualify me from this promotion or reduce the amount of points I accrue?

  4. HI Daraius, I sure would appreciate your expertise….just booked a trip for later this summer to Iceland…
which card do you recommend (I was thinking Carlson?) to try to earn some stays in Iceland? Thanks

  5. Humm, hotels.com has the room I want in Costa Rica for 88 bucks and on CC website it’s 120 bucks a night. So……I would have to book thru CC website to be eligible?
