Folks on FlyerTalk are reporting a possible 100,000 point sign-up bonus on the American Express Platinum card via CardMatch.  You’ll get the bonus after you spend $3,000 in the 1st 3 months.

This is more than double the usual sign-up bonus of 40,000 points!  A similar offer was available in 2013, but it didn’t last very long.  So you’ll have to act quickly!

Not everyone is able to get the 100,000 point offer.  To find out if you’ve been targeted, enter your name, address, and last 4 digits of your social security number on the CardMatch website.  This will NOT generate an inquiry on your credit report.

Enter Your Details at CardMatch to See If You’re Eligible for the 100,000 Point Offer!

This is a very good deal if you can get it!  And you might find increased bonuses on other cards, too.  I’ll explain!

What’s the Deal?

After you enter your details with CardMatch, you’ll get a list of credit cards that match your credit profile.  Some of these are targeted offers which are better than the public offer for the card.

I wasn’t able to see the 100,000 point American Express Platinum offer because I’ve already had the card.  But many folks are reporting that they can see it!

Folks are also reporting other improved sign-up bonuses on CardMatch:

  • American Express Premier Rewards Gold – 50,000 points (normally 25,000 points)
  • American Express EveryDay Preferred – 30,000 points (normally 15,000 points)

Again, checking the CardMatch site won’t hurt your credit score, because it doesn’t generate a “hard pull” or credit inquiry.

It’s always a good idea to take a screenshot of the offer, just in case AMEX decides you weren’t targeted for the offer!  Better safe than sorry.

Is This a Good Deal?

It’s definitely worth checking to see if you’ve been targeted for the 100,000 point American Express Platinum offer!  I wish I was!

Note:   The American Express Platinum card has a $450 annual fee which is NOT waived for the 1st year.   But that’s offset by a $200 airline statement credit, so you’re really only paying $250.  I’d gladly pay $250 for 100,000 American Express Membership Rewards points!

That’s because 100,000 American Express Membership Rewards points will get you LOTS of Big Travel with Small Money!  You can transfer the points to airline and hotel partners, like Delta, British Airways, Singapore Airlines, and Hilton.

You Could Get a LOT of Travel by Transferring 100,000 AMEX Membership Rewards Points!

You Could Get a LOT of Travel by Transferring 100,000 AMEX Membership Rewards Points!

I’ve started a series on how to use American Express Membership Rewards points.  Read this post to find out all the ways to get to Europe!

For example, 100,000 points is enough (with points left over) for a round-trip Business Class flight to Western Europe when you transfer them to Air Canada Aeroplan points.

Note:   You’ll pay an excise fee of 0.06 cents per point, to a maximum of $99, when you transfer American Express Membership Rewards points to US airlines, like Delta or JetBlue.

Bottom Line

You might be targeted for a limited-time 100,000 point sign-up bonus on the American Express Platinum card!  Check the CardMatch tool to see if you can get in on the deal!  You won’t get a credit inquiry unless you apply for a card.

Folks are also reporting increased sign-up bonuses on the American Express Premier Rewards Gold and American Express EveryDay Preferred cards.  It’s worth checking to see what offers are available for you.

100,000 American Express Membership Rewards points can get you TONS of Big Travel with Small Money!  I hope lots of you are targeted for the offer.  Good luck!

  1. After entering your information on the first page (which I regret doing), it takes you to another page that says information will be provided to a credit reporting agency. I realize that they don’t have your full social security number for reporting purposes but I’d be careful about providing too much information. At the very least, you could find yourself inundated with credit card offers.

I checked card match and was not targeted. Can I just call Amex and try to see if I will get it

  3. I was matched with mostly capital one cards 🙁

  4. Capital one, Simmons, first premier…. No Amex… Boo!!!

  5. Same here, no Amex, only BOA and Capital one cards.

  6. No dice!!!

Daraius, why do you have the ‘Act fast’ in title? Do you know if it’s a limited time offer???

  7. Thanks for the info… I was matched for the offer on this site, but I was not matched for any offers on the Amex preQ site. Probably shouldn’t apply then?

  8. Same as those above me, no AMEX cards at all!

  9. No offer brah. WTF is a Simmons card? Thanks for the update though D, keep up the good work.

  10. My husband has a credit score of 850, mine is 700, We could only get BOA, First Premier and Cap One cards — total BS but in real life we get every card we apply for so this website is a total waste of time and totally inaccurate. (Thank you Darius for your wonderful information.)

  11. I feel this is a site to collect email addresses and then mostly promote other cards – which are not good values. I bet almost no one gets the AMEX cards referred to. Darius, do you have a focus group to test these web sites to see if they have any value?

  12. Yup..this didn’t work and I have 810 credit score.

  13. Thanks @darius! Got the platinum and gold offers (100k and 50k)…think I’ll go with the gold to avoid the annual fee

  14. I heard it was only for first time Amex applicants….calling won’t help either.

  15. Darius,

I just got the 100,000 personal platinum minimum spend satisfied as I took advantage of that offer.

Today I received a targeted offer for a 100,000 business platinum. I have a business I can do this with. Can I actually do both and get the 200,000 or will it be flagged at some point as not eligible.

  16. Martin Killington

CardMatch is a waste of time for most people. In my case, it didn’t show the Amex offer even though I have received it in the mail.

  17. Long time Amex platnuinum card holder. Call card services and was reminded the offer was for “new” clients. But as a long time client they have me 10,000 points and a $200 statement credit. Not bad for a phone call.

  18. Didn’t work for me. I tried Cardmatch for me, wife, parents. Several friends didn’t get it to work either. I tried calling but they won’t give me the 100k offer.

  19. i was targeted and accepted american express 50000 bonus but i have to spend 5000 in 90 days on my plat card and it cost 450 quickly also. so i have not received the 100000 offer, should i call reconsideration line.

  20. So I signed up for AMEX Business platinum in Nov, it said id get something like 40k if i spend 3K within the first 3 months, well I’ve spent well over 10K so i called them the other day, she said if I charged 10K id get the 100K bonus, I logged into my account this am and my 100K were added to my account! Ive noticed their very secretive on some things like account limits so I have no-idea how this happened (Going from 40-100k.) I almost wonder if it was changed incase I only spent the 3k to get the 40k points but since I added employee cards and spent well over the 3k then it worked out just fine. Ive been happy with them so far only issue I have is the pre sat spending limit cloud, I’ve been slowly changing bills over to the card because I fear if I do all at once (40K-sh a month) then stuff will be declined so Ive been slowly adding after paying balance. I think it will all work nicely I’m my favor when all said and done.

  21. HI Daraius,

A friend of mine got this offer via mail and didnt want it. Would I be able to sign up with his referal code? We have a nearly identical credit score, so I htink I will have a good chance of being approved.

    Thanks for your help
