You get 50,000 British Airways Avios points and the 1st year annual fee waived after spending $2,000 within 3 months on the British Airways card IF you apply before March 31, 2015.

The annual fee is normally $95 so this is a good deal!

You might think of it as saving $95 on the cost of getting 50,000 British Airways Avios points.

With cards that have the annual fee waived for the 1st year, I like to wait ~10 months to look back at how I’ve used the card.  Then I’ll see if the card has saved me enough money to be worth paying the annual fee.

You Can Save $95 When You Apply Before March 31, 2015

So in this case, you might add up how much money you saved by using your 50,000 British Airways Avios points for travel.  And how much you saved on paid British Airways flights using the 10% discount that comes with the card.

But if don’t apply before March 31, 2015, you won’t get a chance to try out the card without paying an annual fee.

A Few Ways to Get Big Travel With British Airways Avios Points

Although you’ll pay high fuel surcharges on British Airways flights there are ways to use British Airways Avios points and pay low fees.

Because British Airways has a distance based award chart, British Airways Avios points are great to use for short flights in the US on partner American Airlines where you only pay 4,500 British Airways Avios points for 1-way flights under 650 miles.

  1. The BA website says the offer is valid until Mar 31 2015. Please kindly update or remove the post

  2. I’d rather wait for the next 100K offer with a $95 AF the first year. Strange it didn’t come back this year.

  3. This offer has been extended to March 31, 2015

  4. Saw this article as soon as it was posted and decided not to let this opportunity slip away so i applied for the card since I had until the 31st supposedly. I got accepted and was happy. I was looking to apply to one more card as I got accepted for 2 already (2/2) so i came back (right now as I type this at 11:30 pm) to see what card’s promotion might be ending soon (like the US airways) and I see the update of it being extended till March 31st 2015 :(. I didnt bother to check if it said when this promotion expired when i applied for the card because I trust Daraius. Now after seeing this I feel a little sad cause instead of applying for this card I could have applied for another one but oh well. Atleast I i got this one. The reason I say it is because I applied for another chase card yesterday. Atleast I wont have to remember to apply for this one before march 31st and i can apply for a different one in a couple months

  5. Hey Darius, does BA tack on fuel surcharges for flights WITHIN South America? And would their partner airlines availability show up on BA’s website? Thanks for keeping us all so well informed!

  6. @Brad

I did the 100k offer but you can’t compare this to that. Not $2,000 spend in 3 mo. Required $20,000 in spend in 1 year to receive full 100k with no waiver of the $95 fee. That offer was in Feb 2014 and disappeared quickly. Now back in April 2011 (I keep good records), I did the 100k offer for the 1st time and back then it was 100,000 miles for $2,500 spend in 90 days. Good luck with that sweet offer coming back though. Yes I have received the BA bonus twice, 200,000 miles+ but as you can see from my dates they were spaced out. The new 24 month Chase rule on personal cards could allow you to repeat an offer as well.

  7. I no longer see the offer end date of March 31 that I saw a few days ago.

  8. I can’t find any flights to Hawaii from the west coast. Any specifics you can provide?
